HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1972-06-28NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to the Government Code of the State of California, that the Ci~ty Council of the City of South San Francisco will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, June 28, 1972, at 5:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers, City Hall, South San Francisco, California. Proposed Council Actions: The purpose of the meeting is to authorize Memorandums of Understanding concerning proposals tentatively agreed upon between City and union negotiators. A RESOLUTION APPROVING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DESIGNATING LANDS OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC ARCHBISHOP OF SAN FRANCISCO, ET AL, AND A PORTION OF ALI DA STREET. 3. Ist Reading/Introduction AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 449, AS AMENDED, - ADDING ENGINEERING DRAFTSMAN TO THE COMPETITIVE SERVICE. CALL TO.ORDER:~The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mammini at 5:06 p.m. ROLL CALL: Present: Absent: Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, Gordon T. Boblitt, William A. Borba and F. Frank Mammini Councilman Warren Steinkamp City Clerk Rodondi reported that Councilman Steinkamp had called from Washington, D.C., at 9:15 a.m., stating that he consented to the special meeting but would be unable to attend. RESO. NO. 5878 APPROV I NG MEMO OF UNDERSTAND I NG City Attorney Noonan explained the first resolution which was ready for Council's action after which Councilman Borba introduced the resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDER- STANDING BETWEEN EMPLOYER AND EMPLOYEE REPRESENTATIVES - MEDIATION." Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, Gordon T. Boblitt, William A. Borba and F. Frank Mammini. Noes, none. Absent, Councilman Warren Steinkamp. RESO. NO. 5879 The next resolution was explained by City Attorney Noonan after which APPROVING MEMO Councilman Borba introduced the resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF UNDERSTANCING APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN EMPLOYER AND EMPLOYEE VTN AGMT.: REPRESENTATIVES - VTN AGREEMENT." ~ Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, ~w~;fi-j~-~_~ Gordon T. Boblitt, William A. Borba and F. Frank Mammini. Noes, none. Absent, Councilman Warren Steinkamp. ITED TERR. (ST. VERON 1 CA ): RESO. NO. 5880 City Attorney Noonan explained the next resolution approving the APPROVING ANNEX- annexation of certain uninhabited territory after which Councilman ATION OF UNINHAB- Ahem introduced the resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION APPROVING ANNEXATION OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED LANDS OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC ARCHBISHOP OF SAN FRANCISCO, ET AL, AND A PORTION OF ALIDA STREET." Discussion followed after which roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahem, Gordon T. Boblitt, William A. Borba, and F. Frank Mammini. Noes, none. Absent, Councilman Warren Steinkamp, ORDINANCE AMENDING ORD. 449 AS AMENDED: Ist.'Reading/ Introduction ? Mayor Mammini ordered the title of the ordinance read. The title of the ordinance was read. City Attorney Noonan then explained the ordinance and advised the Council regarding procedure for Introduction. Councilman Ahern moved that reading of the ordinance in its entirety be waived and that the ordi- nance be introduced and read for the first time by reading title only. Discussion followed concerning the position after which Councilman Borba requested that the matter be continued to the next meeting. There being no objections, Mayor Mammini deferred the first reading and introduction of the ordinance. In answer to Mr. Raymond Maxwell, 369 Zamora Drive, Mr. Fred Hull, Director of the Department of Ecological Development, explained the position. COUNCILMAN BORBA EXCUSED FROM MEETING: EXECUTIVE PER- SONNEL SESSION: v / RECALL TO ORDER~ , Councilman Borba then requested permission to be absent from the meeting since he had another engagement at 5:30 p.m. Mayor Mammlni excused Councilman Borba at 5:17 p.m. City Manager Drelsbach then asked for an executive personnel session. Mayor Mammini recessed the meeting to an executive personnel session at 5:17 p.m. The meeting was recalled to order by Mayor Mammini at 6:04 p.m., with all Council present. Councilmen Borba and Steinkamp were absent. There being no further business, Councilman Boblitt moved, seconded by Councilman Ahern and regularly carried, that fhe meeting be adjourned. Time of adjournment: 6:05 p.m. APPROVED: RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED, Entries of this Council meeting show the action taken by the City Council to dispose of the item.
