Date: October 2, 1972 AMENDED NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OCTOBER II, 1972 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to the Government Code of the State of California, that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, October II, 1972, at 7:25 p.m. in the Council Confer- ence Room, City Hall, South San Francisco, California. The purpose of the meeting is to Consider bids for rental of heavy equipment - 1972, for dredging sand and removal of concrete obstructions from Colma Creek and tributaries in the City of South San Francisco, California, and award a contract therefor. 2. Adopt a resolution regarding execution of a Clean Water Grant with the State Division of Water Ouality Control. Ahern, Gordon T. Boblitt, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini and Warren Steinkamp Absent: None RESO. NO. 5956 REJECTING BiDS COLMA CREEK & TRI BUTAR I ES: The first item was the consideration of bids for rental of heavy equip- ment- 1972 dredging sand and removal of concrete obstructions from Co lma Creek and tributaries. City Attorney Noonan stated that bids had been received but because of the recent flooding conditions, the nature of the project as proposed has been changed and it was the recommendation of the Department of Ecological Development that all bids be rejected and, pursuant to the Government Code sections, Council authorize whatever portions of work which were left to be done, be performed on a time and material basis or to the lowest price. Discussion followed concerning the matter after which Councilman Steinkamp introduced the resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION REJECTING BIDS FOR RENTAL OF HEAVY EQUIPMENT - 1972, FOR DREDGING SAND AND REMOVAL OF CONCRETE OBSTRUCTIONS FROM COLMA CREEK AND TRIBUTARIES IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA; DECLARING THAT THE PROJECT OR PORTIONS THEREOF CAN BE PERFORMED MORE ECONOMICALLY AS HEREIN DESCRIBED; AND DECLARING THAT PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY DEMAND THE IMMEDIATE EXPENDITURE OF PUBLIC FUNDS 70 SAFEGUARD LIFE, HEALTH OR PROPERTY." Further discussion followed after which roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Council~n Patrick E. Ahern, Gordon T. Boblitt, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none. PROPOSED RESO Councilman Steinkamp requested that the City adopt, a resolution to be RE FEDERAL ASSIST-directed to the United States Congressman and two United States Senators ANCE FLOOD RELIEF: concerning the damage suffered as a result of the recent rainfall, declaring it to be a state of emergency and that federal assistance be given. Discussion followed after which the City Manag~asked Councilman Steinkamp if he would defer this resolution to the special meeting to be held to which he was agreeable. RESO. NO. 5957 AUTHORIZING FILING OF APPLI- CATION FOR STATE & FEDERAL GRANT CLEAN WATER BOND LAW & FEDERAL WATER POLLUTION CONTROL ACT: RESO. NO. 5958 RATIFYING EXECU- City Attorney Noonan stated that the matter con, cerning clean water grant required the adoption of two resolutions, one of which woul~ designate the Director of Public Works office instead of Mr. Louis Goss which it previously did and the other, would rati..~? the grant. Councilman Steinkamp introduced the resolution entit:led: "A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 5423 AND RELATED RESOLUTIONS AUTHORIZING FILING OF APPLICATION FOR STATE AND INCREASED FEDERAL GRANT UNDER THE TERMS OF THE CLEAN WATER BOND LAW OF 1970 AND FEDERAL WATER POLLLUTION CONTROL ACT (SHAW ROAD PUMP STATION, ETC).' Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, Gordon T. Boblitt, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none. Councilman Steinkamp introduced the resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION RATIFYING EXECUTION OF GRANT FOR CLEAN WATER AS AUTHORIZED BY RESOLUTION TION OF GRANT FOR 5797 AND RELATED RESOLUTIONS (PROJECT C-06-0656)." CLEAN WATER: Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, ~ ~) ~ Gordon T. Boblitt, Willism A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini and Warren ~ Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none. Councilman Steinkamp moved, seconded by Councilman Borba and regularly carried, that the meeting be adjourned. The Council will adjourn to an executive session for the purpose of conferring with the City Attorney regarding acquisition of a parcel of property. RECALL TO ORDER: The meeting was recalled to order at 8:10 p.m. by Mayor Mammini. Councilman Steinkamp moved, seconded by Councilman Borba and regu- larly carried, that the meeting be adjourned.
