HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1973-01-19NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to the Government Code of the State of California, that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco will hold a special meeting on Friday, January 19, 1973, at 5:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers, City Hall, South San Francisco, California. The purpose of the meeting is to consider the following: I. Resolution Confirming Declaration of Local Emergency, 2. Resolution Requesting Repair and Restoration of Flood Control Works by U. S. Army Corps of Engineers under P.L. 99. Resoltulon to Accompany Application for State Aid under the Emergency Flood Relief Law, Sectlons 54150 - 54164 of Government Code. 4. Resolution Authorizing Expenditures for Flood Relief Work. Date: Jamuary 16, 1973 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD FRIDAY, JANUARY 19, 1973 TIME: 5:00 p.m. PLACE: Council Chambers, City Hall. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Vice Mayor Steinkamp at 5:03 p.m. ROLL CALL: Present: Absent: Councilmen Patrick E. Ahem, Gordon T. Boblitt, William A. Borba and Warren Steinkamp Councilmen F. Frank Mammini RESO. NO. 6013 CONFIRMING DECLARAT I ON OF LOCAL ENERGENCY: RE~O, NO. &l)'~ PAIR & ~STOR- ATION BY U.S. A~ E~INEERS: After an explanation by City Attorney Noonan, Councilman Ahem intro- duced the first resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING DECLA- RATION OF LOCAL EMERGENCY." Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, Gordon T. Boblitt, William A, Borba and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, Councilman F. Frank Nammini. City Attorney Noonan explained the next resolution after which Councilman Boblitt introduced the resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING REPAIR AND RESTORATION OF FLOOD CONTROL WORKS BY U. S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS UNDER PUBLIC LAW 99." OIS' Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahem, Gordon T. Boblltt, Wllllam A. Borba and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. NO. 6016 AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURES FOR FLOOD RELIEF WORK: RECESS TO EXECUTIVE PER- SONNEL SESSION: RECALL TO ORDER: ADJOURNMENT' __ Brief discussion followed after which Councilman Boblitt introduced the resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION TO ACCOMPANY APPLICATION FOR STATE AID UNDER THE EMERGENCY FLOOD RELIEF LAW - SECTIONS 54150 - 54164 OF GOVERNMENT CODE." Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, Gordon T. Boblltt, William A. Borba and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, Councilman F. Frank Mammlni. The resolu, ion authorizing expenditures for flood relief work was explained by City Attorney Noonan. Discussion followed a~ong I~bers of the City Council, Director Fred Hull, Department of Ecological Development, City Attorney Noonan, City Manager Drelsbach and Mr. Daniel Perry, representative of Senator Alan Cranston, concerning monies already spent by the City, areas repaired and future work to be done. Councilman Ahem introduced the resolution entitled: 'A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURES FOR FLOOD RELIEF WORK." Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E, Ahem, Gordon T. Boblltt, Wllllam A. Borba and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none, Absent, Councilmen F. Frank Mamminl.
