HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1973-08-13 NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT REGULAR MEETING OF AUGUST 6, 1973 ADJOURNED TO AUGUST 13, 1973 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, held on the 6th day of August, 1973, was adjourned to Monday, the 13th day of August, 1973, at 8:00 p.m., in the Conference Room, City Hall, South San Francisco, California. City Clerk Date: August 7, 1973 ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD MONDAY, AUGUST 13, 1973 TIME: 8 O0 ~.m. PLACE: Conference Room, City Hall. CALL TO ORDER:__. The meeting was called to order by Mayor SteinkamO at 8:13 p.m. ROLL CALL: Present: Absent; Councilmen William A. Borba, Terry J. Mirri, F. Frank Mammini and Warren SteinkamD Councilman Patrick E. Ahern LIBRARY BUDGET DISCUSSION: EXPLANATION RE PAYROLL SIGNA- TURE PLATES: Council proceeded with discussions on the budgets, taking up first that of the Library. Upon conclusion of the Library budget, Finance Director Edward Alario brought to Council's attention the need for a resolution concerning signatures on payroll checks in that they presently require two signatures. He exDlained the need for the resolution authorizing a change of signatures on the payroll checks, stating that they expected receipt of the signature Dlate' by Wednesday. If it should not arrive, the resolution could be adopted at that time. CHANGE ORDERS OUTFALL SEWER PROJECT: Acting City Manager Arlario then brought to Council's attention two Change Orders as they affected the Outfall Sewer Project, both Change Orders lessening the costs. Explanation was given by Acting Director of the Department of Ecologi- cal Develop~snt Hugo Stoppoloni after which Councilman Borba moved, seconded by Councilman Mirri and regularly carried that the Change Orders be approved. PUBLIC SERVICES Council proceeded on with the budget, taking up next, Public Services. BUDGET: ~ji~O ~~During the discussion of the Public Services' budget, Mayor Steinkamp INTRODUCTION OF SUPERVISOR AND MRS. ROYER: .5 15...3 APPEARANCE OF COUNCILMAN AHERN: SANITATION BUDGET: acknowledged the presence of San Mateo County Supervisor William Royer and his wife whom he introduced at this time. Councilman Patrick Ahern appeared present at the meeting at 9:35 p.m., and remained for the duration. Council next took uo the Sanitation Division budget. Sanitation Superintendent John Collins gave a detailed explanation of the items therein. DISCUSSION RE FUNDS FOR REFERRAL CENTER: DISCUSSION RE PLANN I NG, ZON I NG AND BU I LD I NG BUDGETS: RECESS FO EXECU- TIVE PERSONNEL SESSION:. RECALL TO ORDER: ADJOURNMENT: Mr. Morrill of the Referral Center brought to the attention of the City Council the urgency for funds to continued their 0rogram. Discussion followed at which time Acting City Manager Alario stated that he Met with Mr. Beck in this regard and that the information would be forthcoming. Mayor Steinkamp then informed Mr. Morrill that this meeting would be adjourned to Wednesday evening at which time budget sessions would continue and he could be 0resent if he desired. Continuing on with budgets, Council reviews that of Planning, Zoning and Building. During the discussions of the budget for the Building Division, the matter of the Chief Building Inspector's examination was discussed, after which Councilman Borba moved that the oosition of Chief Building Ins0ector be held by closed examination. Mayor Steinkamp stated that the motion should be held until the budget sessions had been completed. Mayor Steinkamp then recessed the meeting at II:00 p.m., to an Executive Personnel Session. The meeting was recalled to order by Mayor Steinkamp at 12:50 a.m., with all Council present. Mayor Steinkamp announced that the City Council had discussed the matter of labor negotiations and pretinent information in this regard. There being nothing further, Mayor SteinkamO adjourned the meeting to Wednesday Evening, August 15, 1973, at 8:00 p.m., in the Conference ROOM.
