HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1973-08-29NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to the Government Code of the State of California, that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco will hold a Special Meeting on Wednesday, August 29, 1973, at 7:30 p.m., in the Council Conference Room, City Hall, 400 Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, California. The purpose of the meeting is to consider the following: ResolutiOn authorizing rental of dragline equipment- dredging of Colma Creek and Tributaries other than areas related to Linden Bridge. Resolution authorizing execution of the Memorandums of Understanding and Statement of wages, benefits and other terms and conditions of employment. Resolutions authorizing execution of Agreements with the several tenants being relocated because of the Linden Avenue Bridge project. 4. Resolution authorizing execution of Agreements regarding Valverde Slope repair. NO. 6161 AUTHORIZING RENTAL OF EQUIPMENT FOR DREDGING COLMA CREEK: RESO5 RE SALARY SCHEDULES: 7:30 p.m. Conference Roo~, City Hall, Mayor Steinkamp called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. Present: Councilmen Patrick E. Ahem, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini, Terry J. Mirrl and Warren Steinkamp Absent: None The first item for Council's attention was the Proclamation designating September 3, 1973 at THE NEW JERRY LEWIS MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY TELETHON WEEKEND. Mayor Steinkamp so proclaimed. After an explanation by City Attorney Noonan, Councilman Mammini intro- duced the first resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RENTAL OF EQUIPMENT FOR DREDGING COLMA CREEK AND TRIBUTARIES OTHER THAN AREAS RELATED TO LINDEN AVENUE BRIDGE PROJECT." Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammlni, Terry J. Mirri and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none. At the request of Acting City Manager Edward Alario the following reso- lutions were requested held over since the Memorandums of Understanding had not as yet been fully executed~ RESOS RE SALARY SCHEDULES: (CONTINUED) A RESOLUTION APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTAND WITH SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO CITY EMPLOYEES/JOINT COUNCIL/MARINE ENGINEERS BENEFICIAL ASSOCIATION/AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES, LOCAL 1569, AFL-CIO, FOR UNIT 3, UNIT 4 AND SWIMMING POOL EMPLOYEES (UNIT DESIGNATION PENDING).. A RESOLUTION APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH TH~ SOUTH SAN FI:~ANCISCO POLICE ASSOCIATION FOR UNITS 5 AND 7 A RESOLUTION APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS OF AMERICA, LOCAL 1507, AFL-CIO, FOR UNIT 6 4. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING WAGE INCREASES AND OTHER BENEFITS FOR EMPLOYEES IN UNIT NO. I AND OTHER EMPLOYEES. Brief discussion followed concerning certain newspaper articles which had appeared concernlng the City's negotiating sessions which were incorrect and to which the City should reply, The resolutions were ordered held over. RESO. NO. 6162 AUTHORI Z I NG EXE- CUTION OF AGREE- MENTS - LINDEN AVE. BRI BE PROJECT. City Attorney Noonan explained the next resolution after which Council- man Borba introduced the resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION AUTHO- RIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH TENANTS RELOCATED DUE TO THE LINDEN AVENUE BRIDGE PROJECT." Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini, Terry J. Mirri and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none. RESO. NO. 6163 AUTHORIZING EXE- CUTION OF AGREE- MENTS - VALVERDE SLOPE~ RECESS: After an explanation by City Attorney Noonan, Councilman Borba intro- duced the resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENTS WITH CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNERS - ADJACENT TO VALVERDE SLOPE." Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini, Terry J. Mirri and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none. There being nothing further, Mayor Steinkamp declared a recess to an Executive Personnel Session at 7:50 p,m, RECALL TO ORDER: Mayor Steinkamp recalled the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m., with all -- Council present, Mayor Steinkamp announced that during the Executive Personnel Session, labor negotiations were discussed.
