NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to the Government Code of the
State of California, that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco will
hold a special meeting on Monday, November 26, 1973, at 7:30 p.m., in the Council
Conference Room, City Hall, 400 Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, Cal~ornia.
The purpose of the meeting is to
Approval for Attendance at the National League of Cities'
Convention by City Representatives.

CALL TO ORDER;____Mayor pro'Tam Mlrri called the meeting to order at 7:38 p.m.

Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, William A. Borba,
F. Frank Mammini and Terry J. Mlrri.

DISCUSSION RE
CONVENTION:
In answer to Councilman Borba's inquiry regarding the location of the
convention, City Manager Alario stated that it was to be held in San
Juan Puerto Rico; also, that it was to take place between December 3rd
and 6th and be attended by the Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem and City Manager.
Discussion followed concerning the eligibility of Councilman Mirri to
attend due to the Shortness of his term of office.
Further discussion followed concerning an alternate to attend in
Councilman Mirri's place in the event he were not eligible to attend.
Councilman Ahern then moved, seconded by Councilman Mammini that the
attendance of three to the convention be approved.
Brief discussion followed at which time Councilman Mammini requested an
amendment to the motion that if such another convention be held next
year, that he or Councilman Ahern be permitted to attend.
Councilman Ahern so moved, seconded by Councilman Borba that the motion
be so amended.
Roll call vote on the motion and the amendment was as follows: Ayes,
Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini and
Terry J. Mirri. Noes, none. Absent, Councilman Warren Steinkamp.
A discussion followed among Council and some members of the audience
concernlng miscellaneous matters as well as the adjournment of the
regular meeting of the City Council from December 3, 1973 to December I0,
1973, due to the lack of quorum.

ADJOURNMENTt,_ Mayor Pro Tem Mirri then adjourned the meeting at 8:34 p.m.
