AMENDING ORD. NO. 396 - SEWER RENTAL AND CHARGES rag? APPEARANCE OF COUNCILMAN MAMMINI 7:00 PM. West Orange Avenue Library Auditorium. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Battaglia at 7:07 PM. Present: Councilmen Richard A. Battaglia, Terry J. Mirri, and Leo Padreddii. Absent: Councilmen F. Frank Mammini and Warren Steinkamp. Staff Report, dated April 2, 1975, recommending amendment to Ordinance No. 396, which pertains to amending the sewer rentals and charges. 1st Reading/Introduction AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 396, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO PROVIDING FOR SEWER RENTALS AND CHARGES IN SAID CITY, PROVIDING THAT SUCH SEWER RENTALS AND CHARGES SHALL BE COLLECTED ON THE MUNICIPAL TAX ROLLS AND SHALL BECOME A LIEN UPON THE RESPECTIVE PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY" AND REPEALING CERTAIN SECTIONS AND SUBSECTIONS. The matter of the proposed ordinance concerning modification to the sewer rental charges was briefly explained by the Director of Public Services who then called on John Jenks of the firm of Jenks and Adamson. Mr. John Jenks in detail explained the matter of grants which were available for plant modifications, the conditions attached to these grants and the involvement of the Federal agencies. He then explained the rate changes and how they had been computed for inclusion in the proposed ordinance. Councilman Mammini appeared present at 7:23 PM and remained for the duration of the meeting. Lengthy discussion then followed between the members of the City Council, Staff and Mr. Jenks after which Councilman Padreddii moved, seconded by Councilman Mirri that Ordinance No. 396 be amended to comply with Alternate #1. PUBLIC SERVICES ORD. AMENDING ORD. NO. 396 - SEWER RENTAL & CHARGES (CONT' D. ) ADJOURMEN~ Mr. William Hearn, representing the Peninsula Manufacturers Association, discussed the ordinance, the proposed changes, how it would affect the industries, requesting the City Council delay any action at this time until a study and review have been made. After further discussion Councilman Padreddii withdrew his motion and Councilman Mirri withdrew his second. Councilman Mammini'smotion regarding the mailing of agenda to all businesses and industries died for a lack of a second. Mayor Battaglia at this time requested that prior to placement on the agenda, matters such as this ordinance be listed with other items to come before Council in order that they might be aware of them. Councilman Mammini so moved, seconded by Councilman Padreddii and regularly carried. There being nothing further to come before Council Mayor Battaglia adjourned the meeting.
