HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1975-06-30ADJOURNED SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD MONDAY, JUNE 30, 1975 TIME: PLACE: CALL TO ORDER: ROLL CALL: FUNDS FOR CHAMBER OF COMMERCE INFORMATION & REFERRAL CENTER-FISCAL AGENT 7:00 PM. Council Conference Room, City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Battaglia at 7:07 PM. Present: Councilmen Richard A. Battaglia, Leo Padreddii and Warren Steinkamp. Absent: Councilmen F. Frank Mammini, Terry J. Mirri. Councilman Mirri appeared present after roll call at 7:08 PM and remained present for the duration of the meeting. The City Manager commented on the budget revisions made at Council's direction and the request of the Chamber of Commerce for funds to continue with their programs. Speaking in behalf of the Chamber of Commerce was Les Davis, Secretary and George Stagnaro, President. Discussion followed concerning the activities of the Chamber of Commerce. Councilman Mammini appeared present at 7:30 PM and remained present for the duration of the meeting. Councilman Padreddii then moved that the City appropriate approximately $9,000.00 from the Reserve Account for use by the Chamber of Commerce in its activities. At the request of Councilman Mammini, Mayor Battaglia explained the prior discussions which had taken place in this regard. Councilman Mirri then seconded the motion which was regularly carried. Discussion followed concerning the City acting as fiscal agent for the Information and Referral Center rather than that agency doing this themselves. After an explanation by the City Manager as to the reasons and there being no objections, it was so ordered. RESO. NO. 84-75 APPROVING OPERATING BUDGET F.Y. 1975-76 RESO. After some dis- cussion Councilman Steinkampmoved that the City adopt the Budget based on the figures discussed. Brief discussion followed after which Councilman Steinkamp rescinded his motion and read the resolution prepared in this regard with the suggested changes. Councilman Steinkamp then introduced a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1975-76. Roll Call Vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Richard A. Battaglia, F. Frank Mammini, Terry J. Mirri, Leo Padreddii and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none. Councilman Steinkamp introduced a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING, UNIT 1 - MANAGEMENT, JULY 1, 1975-JUNE 30, 1978. Roll Call Vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Richard A. Battaglia, F. Frank Mammini, Terry J. Mirri, Leo Padreddii and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none. Councilman Steinkamp introduced a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING, UNIT 2 (PROFESSIONAL AND PARAPROFESSIONAL) JULY 1, 1975 - JUNE 30, 1977. Roll Call Vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Richard A. Battaglia, F. Frank Mammini, Terry J. Mirri, Leo Padreddii and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none. Councilman Steinkamp introduced a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING, UNIT 5 - SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO POLICE ASSOCIATION, JULY 1, 1975 - JUNE 30, 1978. Roll Call Vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Richard A. Battaglia, F. Frank Mammini, Terry J. Mirri, Leo Padreddii and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none. Councilman Steinkamp introduced a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING ANDAPPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING, UNIT 7 - NON-SWORN POLICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES - JULY 1, 1975 - JUNE 30, 1977. Roll Call Vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Richard A. Battaglia, F. Frank Mammini, Terry J. Mirri, Leo Padreddii and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none. Councilman Steinkamp introduced a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING, UNIT 8 - CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES, JULY 1, 1975 - JUNE 30, 1977. 6130/75 Page 2 RESO. CITY- PUBLIC SAFETY COMPLEX b-IO REPRESENTATIVES AT CONFERENCES & SEMINARS ADJOURNMENT: Roll Call Vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Richard A. Battaglia, F. Frank Mammini, Terry J. Mirri, Leo Padreddii and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none. Mayor Battaglia recessed the meeting at 8:02 PM to an Executive Personnel Session. The meeting was recalled to order by Mayor Battaglia at 11:12 PM with all Council present. The City Manager at this time requested permission to sign an agreement with Orrick, Herrington, Rowley and Sutcliffe authorizing that firm to represent the City in the case of Acosta vs. the City. Councilman Mammini so moved, seconded by Councilman Steinkamp and regularly carried. Discussion followed concerning guidelines to the attendance of Council representatives and Staff to conferences and seminars. Councilman Steinkampmoved, seconded by Councilman Padreddii and regularly carried that the meeting be adjourned. The meeting was adjourned at 12:03 AM. Arthur A.
