HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1976-01-14ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO JANUARY 14, 1976 TIME: PLACE :~ CALL TO ORDER: ROLL CALL:~ ORD. CONCERNING CITY COUNCIL SALARIES 1st Reading/Intro. 7:00 PM. Council Conference Room, City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Battaglia at 7:14 PM. Present: Councilmen Richard A. Battaglia, F. Frank Mammini, Terry J. Mirri, Leo Padreddii. Absent: Councilman Warren Steinkamp. The City Clerk announced that the item before Council this evening was an ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF SALARIES TO MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO. Discussion followed between members of the City Council at which time Councilman Mirri commented that while the increase was justified he objected to any increase at this time and suggested that an evaluation be made with surrounding cities. After discussion Mayor Battaglia ordered the title of the ordinance read. The title of the ordinance was read. City Attorney Noonan then explained the ordinance and advised the Council regarding procedure for introduction. Councilman Padreddii moved that reading of the ordinance in its entirety be waived and that the ordinance be introduced and read for the first time by reading title only, seconded by Councilman Mammini and regularly carried. Councilman Mirri vote "no". Councilman Padreddii moved that the ordinance entitled, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF SALARIES TO MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, the entire reading of which has been duly waived, be introduced, seconded by Councilman Mammini and passed by the following roll call vote. Discussion followed after which roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Richard A. Battaglia, F. Frank Mammini, Leo Padreddii. Noes, Councilman Terry J. Mirri. Absent, Councilman Warren Steinkamp. SAFETY COMPLEX AND EXTRA OIL CO. DISCUSSION The City Manager at this time briefly informed Council concerning the matter of the court ruling on the Safety Complex and the Extra Oil matter.
