HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1977-03-09ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD MARCH 9, 1977 TIME: PLACE: CALL TO ORDER: PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO FLAG% ROLL CALL: SELECTION OF MAYOR SELECTION OF VICE- MAYOR COMMENTS 7:00 PM. West Orange Avenue Library Auditorium. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Padreddii at 7:11 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. Present: Councilmen Richard A. Battaglia, William A. Borba, Emanuele N. Damonte, Terry J. Mirri and Leo Padreddii. Absent: None. The first item before Council was the selection of a Mayor for the coming year. Councilman Borba moved, seconded by Councilman Mirri that Councilman Damonte serve as Mayor. Councilman Borba then moved, seconded by Councilman Mirri that nominations be closed. Motions as made and seconded were regularly carried. The next item was the selection of Vice-Mayor for the coming year. Councilman Mirri moved, seconded by Councilman Damonte that Councilman Borba serve as Vice-Mayor. Councilman Damonte moved, seconded by Councilman Mirri that nominations be closed. Motions as made and seconded were regularly carried. Councilman Damonte, in taking the office of Mayor, commented on the accomplishments the City had realized during the past year, the work of former Mayor Padreddii, thanking Council for the confidence placed in him and accepting the duties of Mayor with pride and humility. Former Mayor Padreddii reviewed the projects which had been completed during his term as Mayor, thanking Council for their assistance during his term and pledging his support to Mayor Damunte. COMMENTS (CONT' S. ) ADJOURNMENT Councilman Borba thanked the members of the City Council for electing him to the position of Vice-Mayor, stating that he would fulfill these duties and assist the members of the City Council. Councilman Mirri stated that Councilman Padreddii was not only an aggressive Mayor but a good Mayor. Councilman Battaglia read an article which described leadership and what it stood for. There being nothing further to come before Council, Councilman Padreddii moved, seconded by Councilman Mirri and regularly carried that the meeting be adjourned. Time of adjournment was 7:30 PM.
