NO. 52-78 AUTH PARTICIPATION IN RISK MNGMT STUDY 7:00 PM. Council Conference Room, City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Borba at 7:03 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. Present: Council~mn Ronald G. Acosta, William A. Borba, Emanuele N. Damonte and Terry J. Mirri, Councilwoman Roberta Cerri Teglia. Absent: None. Staff Report, dated May 3, 1978, recommending that Council establish criteria and a procedure for the allocation of General Revenue Sharing Funds to community based social services. The Assistant to the City Manager explained the modifications made to the procedure as requested by Council, after which the Director of Finance explained the expenditures and how they were to be documented. After discussion Councilman Damonte moved, seconded by Councilman Mirri and regularly carried that the recommendation of the City Manager be approved and accepted. Staff Report, dated May 3, 1978, recommending that the City Manager be authorized to engage the services of the 1976 Risk Management Group, Inc., in conjunction with other San Mateo County cities for the purpose of determining the feasibility of creating a Joint Powers Authority for Risk Management Services. The City Manager explained to Council the premium increases on liability over the years and the request to join other County cities in engaging the services of the 1976 Risk Management Group, Inc. After a brief discussion between Council and staff, Councilman Acosta requested that he be appointed to the committee if an appointment was to be made. Council agreed to the request. NO. 52-78 AUTH PARTICIPATION IN RISK MNGMT STUDY (CONT' D. ) Councilman Acosta then introduced a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN A RISK MANAGEMENT STUDY. Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Ronald G. Acosta, William A. Borba, Emanuele N. Damonte and Terry J. Mirri, Councilwoman Roberta Cerri Teglia. Noes, none. Absent, none. PUBLIC SERVICES RESO. NO. 53-78 AUTH AGMT WITH SSF UNIFIED SCHOOL DIST FOR SWEEPER SERVICES FOR SCHOOL SITES Staff Report, dated May 3, 1978, recommending that Council determine the advisability of adopting a resolution authorizing execution of an Agreement between South San Francisco Unified School District and the City of South San Francisco for street sweeper services for certain school sites. Councilman Acosta introduced a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT -- SWEEPER SERVICES FOR SCHOOL SITES. Discussion followed between Council and staff relative to whether or not the requested services would infringe on the Department involved, charges to be made for the services and the termination clause in the agreement. Councilman Mirri suggested that this matter not be concluded until after the budget had been reviewed. The City Manager stated that the budget could be modified. or the services canceled. After further discussion roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Ronald G. Acosta and Emanuele N. Damonte, Councilwoman Roberta Cerri Teglia. Noes, Councilmen William A. Borba and Terry J. Mirri. Absent, none. ADJOURNMENT There being nothing further to come before Council and there being nothing under Good and Welfare, Councilman Damonte moved, seconded by Councilman Acosta and regularly carried that the meeting be adjourned.
