Discussion of the Municipal Services Building's progress. M I N U T E S CITY COUNCIL City Council Conference Room May 29, 1980 ACTION TAKEN Adjourned Regular Meeting 4:45 p.m. Council present: Council absent: Vice Mayor Nicolopulos presiding. Teglia, Damonte, Addiego and Nicolopulos. Acosta. Recited. AGENDA REVIEW Presented a questionnaire for the Country Club Park residents for discussion and comment. Discussion followed on the question- naire, not stating split or do not split but clouded the issue on ways to split the lots. Consensus of Council, submit the revised questionnaire asking for a vote on splitting lots or not allowing splits on lots without inclusion of any diagrams of splits. CITY MANAGER City Manager Birkelo introduced Mr. Howard Conant, Goodwin B. Steinberg Associates, and Ms. Sandy Chandler, Interior Decorator, to explain the various expenditures in detail that were anticipated.. Mr. Howard Conant described the the demountable desk, public address system, camera hook-ups, lighting for TV broadcast, acoustic ceiling, audio-visual equipment, furnishings for the multi-purpose room and the miscellaneous artwork. 5/29/80 Page 1 AGENDA ACT]~ON TAKEN CITY MANAGER 1. Discussion - Continued. e Bus Service at the Municipal Services Building at Arroyo Drive and E1 Camino Real. ADJOURNMENT: (TF-639) CITY MANAGER Ms. Sandy Chandler described the types of furniture, chairs and rugs to be used throughout the Municipal Services Building and showed samples of the rug and chair fabric for Council's perusal. Discussion followed on landscaping for the front of the building, stacking chairs, Police lounge, Chamber of Commerce request to rent a portion of the building. Councilman Damonte left the podium at 6:10 p.m. Director of Public Services Yee presented five alternates available at the site and proposed that Alternate 1 be used relocating the existing bus stop and layover space to Arroyo. This Alternate would allow the current routing of the buses to continue, locate buses close to the Municipal Services entrance and be clear of Police and Fire access. A discussion followed on the necessity of the bus stops for the senior citizens, the alternatives, rerouting the buses, moving the bus stop forward and providing a shelter. Council directed the City Manager to approach SAMTRANS with the information that the frontage use for the buses is not acceptable and for them to present new alter- natives.
