Damonte Roberta Cerri Teglia AGENDA ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING CALL TO ORDER (TF-1250 Side l) PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE INVOCATION SELECTION OF MAYOR MINUTES CITY COUNCIL Municipal Services Building, Community Room April 28, 1981 138 ACTION TAKEN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING 7:15 p.m. Mayor Acosta Presiding. Council present: Teglia, Damonte, Nicolopulos, Addiego and Acosta. Council absent: None. Recited. Father Durken, All Souls Catholic Church, gave the invocation. M/S Acosta/Damonte - To nominate Gus Nicolopulos as Mayor for the coming year. Carried by unanimous voice vote. Mayor Nicolopulos expressed his appreciation and said that his desire for this Council was to direct, coordinate and motivate positively while at the same time walk lightly and carry a big stick - only to get attention. He intro- duced his wife Ada and said she was his help-mate of 36 years. Mayor Nicolopulos presented a plaque to Councilman Acosta for his conscientious leadership as Mayor in the past year. Councilman Acosta expressed his appreciation for the plaque and for the cooperation demonstrated by the Council. He introduced his wife Jeanette as the unofficial "Mayoress" of South San Francisco. 4/28/81 Page 1 AGENDA ACTION TAKEN 129 SELECTION OF VICE MAYOR ADJOURNMENT (TF-1368) RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED, M/S Acosta/Addiego - To nominate Roberta Cerri Teglia as Vice Mayor. Carried by unanimous voice vote. Councilman Acosta thanked the following merchants for donating champagne and food for this evening's reception: D&M Liquors, Al's Liquors, Town Liquors, Columbo's Liquors, Buri Buri Liquors, Buri Buri Delicatessen, Lou Poletti Realty, Tom Callan Realty, Gallo Sales, South San Francisco Insurance Agents Assoc. and Pelegrini Wines. Vice Mayor Teglia said that the Vice Mayor's role is to assist the Mayor and she planned to do her best to aid the Mayor. Mayor Nicolopulos invited the audience to attend the reception following the meeting. M/S Acosta/Teglia - That the meeting be adjourned. Carried by unanimous voice vote.
