to thank staff for their professional
work on a day to day basis during this
past year when the Council had been
involved in the political arena, both in

He stated that only in this City could he
have had the honor of being Mayor twice
before his thirty-third birthday while
being a grocery clerk in a local market.
He stated that in the next few years he
intended to be very active and pay back
the honor the people had bestowed upon
him.

become Fire Chief of this fine City, he
had thought it was the highest honor he
could achieve in his life - but actually
he was wrong, and felt that tonight was
the highest honor.
