HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 2000-04-13MINUTES CITY COUNCIL CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO COMMUNITY MEETING APRIL 13, 2000 EL CAMINO HIGH SCHOOL SCHOOL CAFETERIA 1320 MISSION ROAD Call to Order: -Mayor Matsumoto called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Roll "Call: Present: Councilmembers Mullin and Penna, and Mayor Matsumoto Absent: Councilman Datzman and Mayor Pro Tem Fernekes Staff Present: City Manager Wilson, City Attorney Mattas, Assistant City Manager Moss;' Department Heads: Bower, Gibbs, Nagel, Lee, Raffaelli, Sommer, Steele, and Van Duyn; Division Heads: Quinn, Fragoso, Kianpour, Bordi, Ranals, Sparks, Kirkman, White, and Lucia; Other staff members: Wong, Lappen, Hunziker, and Linder Director Quinn presided over the community meeting, asked for introductions and reviewed the ground roles. City Manager Wilson presented a visual presentation that illustrated the City's current developments, focusing in the vicinity of the Sunshine Gardens area. The presentation included information on community outreach projects, capital improvement projects and department programs. The meeting was opened to questions from those in attendance (approximately 15 residents). Council and staff responded to questions accordingly. Concerns and questions included: · Costco's service station / potential fire hazard · Installation of sidewalks along Mission Road / traffic safety · Stop sign at Grand and Mission Road ! obstructed by an overgrown tree · BART - green zone along surface path - overflow parking into surrounding neighborhoods - pedestrian access from Sunshine Gardens neighborhood · Need for bike path along Airport Boulevard · Neighborhood problems with High School students departing school at 3:00 p.m. -cars blocking driveways, rude behavior, jay-walking, etc. · Cross-training firefighters and building inspectors · Plans for 109 Longford Drive Process for filling Council vacancy Hilton Avenue signalization / traffic noise impact to Winston Manor No. 1 · Loss of City services/Molieri court case settlement Director Quinn closed the meeting and thanked all for participating.
