HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 2001-02-21 MINUTES CITY COUNCIL CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO SPECIAL MEETING CITY HALL CONFERENCE ROOM 400 GRAND AVENUE FEBRUARY 21,2001 77 Call to Order Roll Call 5:31 p.m. Present: Councilmembers Gonzalez and Penna*, Mayor Pro Tem Mullin and Mayor Fernekes Absent: Councilwoman Matsumoto Staff Present: City Manager Wilson, City Attorney Mattas, Assistant City Manager Moss, Human Resources Director Bower, Police Chief Raffaelli, Fire Chief Lee, Parks, Recreation & Maintenance Services Director Nagel Others Present: Austris Rungis, IEDA, consultant *Councilman Penna arrived at 6:45 p.m. Public Comments: None Closed Session: Pursuant to Government Code Section 59457.6, conference with Labor Negotiator Jennifer Bower and Austris Rungis, consultant, on Public Safety labor negotiations Entered into Closed Session: Re-entered into Open Session: Report from Closed Session: 5:32 p.m. 6:45 p.m., Councilmembers Gonzalez and Penna, Mayor Pro Tern Mullin and Mayor Fernekes present Direction given/no action taken (Recess: 6:45 p.m. - 7:17 p.m.) Interview applicants for Boards and Commissions Director Bower introduced each applicant to Council. Applicant were interviewed in the following order and responded to questions from each Councilmember (questions are consistent with those asked at the December 13, January 10 and 24, and February 14 meetings): · Carolyn Reardon - 7:17 p.m., applicant for Housing Authority (tenant) · James Lineberger - 7:25 p.m., applicant for Housing Authority · Frank Vieira - 7:45 p.m., re-appointment to Historic Preservation Commission · Norman Faria - 8:03 p.m., applicant for Personnel Board/Planning Councilman Fernekes informed each applicant that appointments will be made at the March 14 meeting. 6.
