Minutes of the Personnel Board Meeting
February 15, 2011
Call To Order: Chair Harris called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Roll Call: Present: Chair Harris, Chair Pro Tem Elliott, Member Bertolozzi,
and Member Irli. Also present were Human Resources Director
Kathy Mount and Superintendent of Public Works Gary Batis.
Member Taormina was not in attendance due to an excused
absence.
Agenda Review: No changes.
Employee Recognition: None.
Review of Minutes: Chair Pro Tem Elliott moved to accept the Minutes, Member Irli
seconded, and the Board unanimously accepted.
Department Presentation
to the Board:
None.
Reports: None.
Continued Business: None.
Recess: None.
New Business: Adoption of Amended Job Specifications to Existing Position of
WQCP Maintenance Supervisor – Member Irli moved to adopt
the Amendment, Member Bertolozzi seconded, and the Board
unanimously agreed to adopt the Amendment.
Discussion of Options for Personnel Board and Directions to
Staff –
Personnel Board Existence: Chair Pro Tem Elliott moved to meet
quarterly, Member Irli seconded the motion, and Chair Harris
agreed. Member Bertolozzi abstained. The recommendation will
need go before the City Council to amend the Municipal Code to
reflect quarterly meetings before any change can be made.
Action Minutes: Kathy Mount explained the effectiveness of
Action Minutes. The Board discussed the issue, but did not take
action at this time.

Communications: Items from the Public: None.
Items from the Board and Staff: Gary Batis commented that the
Personnel Board is a valuable presence in the City.
Attendance Verification
for Next Meeting:
The next regular meeting will be held March 15, 2011 at
6:00 p.m. in the Large Conference Room. All members will be
present.
Closed Session for
Personnel Matters:
None.
Adjournment: Member Bertolozzi moved to adjourn, seconded by Chair Pro
Tem Elliott, and the Board unanimously accepted. The meeting
was adjourned at approximately 7:22 p.m.
