CALL TO ORDER TIME: 6:01 p.m.
ROLL CALL PRESENT: Councilmembers Garbarino, Matsumoto and
Addiego,Vice Mayor Normandy and Mayor
Gupta.
ABSENT: None.
AGENDA REVIEW
City Manager Futrell recommended that Council postpone items 2 and 2a to the next Regular City
Council meeting.
LEGISLATIVE BUSINESS
1. Report regarding an ordinance reauthorizing the Public, Educational, and
Governmental (PEG) fee on state cable franchisees operating within the City of
South San Francisco and amending Section 6.78.040 of the South San Francisco
Municipal Code. (Jason Rosenberg, City Attorney)
1 a. Urgency Ordinance reauthorizing the Public, Educational, and
Governmental fee on state cable franchisees operating within the City of
South San Francisco.
lb. Ordinance reauthorizing the Public,Educational,and Governmental fee on
state cable franchisees operating within the City of South San Francisco and
amending Section 6.78.040 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code.
City Attorney Rosenberg gave a brief presentation on the report.
Councilmember Matsumoto asked whether the urgency ordinance was needed due to slipping through the
cracks. City Attorney Rosenberg stated staff was waiting for the study to be completed before they took
action.
Mayor Gupta queried whether the urgency ordinance was needed to not miss out on collecting fees.City
Attorney Rosenberg replied that was correct.
Motion- Normandy/ Second- Garbarino: that this Urgency Ordinance, ORD 1534-2017, be
adopted.Approved by roll call vote:
Yes: 5-Councilmember Addiego,Councilmember Garbarino,Councilmember Matsumoto,Vice Mayor
Normandy, and Mayor Gupta
Enactment No: ORD 1534-2017
Motion-Normandy/ Second- Garbarino: that this Ordinance, be introduced.Approved by
roll call vote:

2. Report regarding an ordinance amending Chapter 2.12 of the South San
Francisco Municipal Code to provide for a salary increase for the members of
the City Council. (Jason Rosenberg, City Attorney)
2a. Ordinance amending Chapter 2.12 of the South San Francisco Municipal
Code to provide for a salary increase for the members of the City Council
