Present: Councilmembers Garbarino, Addiego and
Matsumoto, Vice Mayor Normandy, and
Mayor Gupta.
Absent: None.
Colors were honorably and duly posted by members of the South San Francisco Police Explorers
Program.

5. Star Spangled Banner.
6. Introduction of Elected Officials.
Led by Mrs. Denise Fernekes, wife of
former Mayor and Councilmember Joseph
A. Fernekes.
Performed by Mariano Gonzalez, grandson
of former Mayor and Councilmember Pedro
Gonzalez.
Mayor Gupta introduced the elected officials and /or their representatives that were in attendance
at the meeting.
7. Public Comments - comments were limited to items on the Special Meeting Agenda.
None.
8. Reorganization of the City Council.
Mayor Gupta declared the purpose of the meeting was to reorganize the South San Francisco City
Council.
a. Remarks of Outgoing Mayor
Mayor Gupta delivered outgoing remarks.
b. Nominations for Mayor; close of nominations; appointment
Motion — Councilwoman Matsumoto /Second— Councilman Addiego: to nominate and appoint
Hon. Liza Normandy to serve as Mayor of the City of South San Francisco. Unanimously
approved by Roll Call vote.
C. Nominations for Mayor Pro Tempore; close of nominations; appointment
Motion — Councilman Garbarino /Second— Councilman Gupta: to nominate and appoint Hon.
Karyl Matsumoto to serve as Mayor Pro Tempore of the City of South San Francisco.
Unanimously approved by Roll Call vote.
Oaths of Office administered to incoming Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore.
