ADMINISTRATIVE BUSINESS
1. Report regarding Library Board Interviews and Appointments. (Krista Martinelli, City Clerk).
1 a.Interview Applicants for Library Board:
6:05 p.m.: Alvin Zachariah
6:15 p.m.: Mary Giusti
6:25 p.m.: Liru Chin
6:35 p.m.: Steven Yee
lb.Discussion and consideration of appointment of applicants to the Library Board.
Councilmembers interviewed applicants Zachariah, Giusti, Chin and Yee. Applicants Zachariah and
Yee appeared by Skype voice call.
After discussion, Councilmembers voted to appoint Liru Chin and Mary Giusti to fill the respective
vacancies on the Library Board.
Motion— Councilman Gupta/Second— Councilman Garbarino: to appoint applicants Mary Giusti and
Liru Chin to fill the respective vacancies on the Library Board. Unanimously approved by roll call
vote.
2. Presentation of the Citywide Neighborhood Traffic Management Policy and Procedures. (Richard
Cho, Principal Engineer and DKS & Associates)
Principal Engineer Cho and Mr. Vaca of DKS & Associates provided a PowerPoint presentation on the
development process related to the Citywide Neighborhood Traffic Management Policy and Procedures.
Councilman Addiego stated he believed the 2/3 threshold required to implement Tier 2 Measures was
high.
Councilman Gupta commented that with respect to certain traffic calming measures, there was a risk
associated with the need to slow down.
City Manager Futrell advised that lighting and 15 mph signs were planned for installation around such
traffic calming installations. He further stated that the program would address staff identified issues as
well as those generated by neighborhood request.
