ROLL CALL Present: Councilmembers Addiego, Garbarino, and Gupta,
Vice Mayor Matsumoto and Mayor Normandy.

ADMINISTRATIVE BUSINESS
Presentation of the South Linden Avenue Grade Separation Project. (Richard Cho, Principal
Engineer and AECOM)
Principal Engineer Cho introduced the staff report providing a presentation on the South Linden
Avenue Grade Separation Project. He then introduced Milete Lisinger of AECOM. Ms. Lisinger
summarized the South Linden Avenue and Scott Street Grade Separation Planning Study explaining
"at -grade crossings ", need for the project, and project location map. She presented the four
alternatives, advantages and disadvantages. She requested input on desired alternatives.
Mayor Pro Tem Matsumoto queried the process for seeking an alternative that would be mutually
agreeable to South San Francisco and San Bruno.
Ms. Lisinger stated the cities were working together and an anticipated joint meeting would be held.
Mayor Pro Tern Matsumoto queried the need for a shoofly.
Ms. Lisinger explained the need to construct a detour.
Mayor Pro Tern Matsumoto asked if the SB1 repeal would impact the project.
Ms. Lisinger stated the study was funded, but construction funding was not secured.
In response to a question from Councilman Garbarino, Ms. Lisinger explained the design criteria
provided by Caltrain and gradual grade changes. She stated additional information was being
gathered regarding utilities.
Councilman Gupta asked if the designs related to train speeds.
Ms. Lisinger stated all alternatives met Caltrain requirements.
Councilman Gupta queried the impact on driveways.
Ms. Lisinger explained driveways might be lost and summarized the alternatives for pedestrian
crossings.
Councilman Addiego asked about compensation for lost driveways.
Ms. Lisinger stated a solution was under investigation.
Mayor Pro Tern Matsumoto expressed concern regarding potential graffiti on retaining walls.
ADJOURNMENT
Being no further business, Mayor Normandy adjourned the meeting at 6:56 p.m.
