The City Council of the City of South San Francisco does
ordain as follows:
~,~EREAS the City Council of the City of South San Fran-
cisco heretofore referred to the city planning commission of said
city the matter of proposed r ezoning of the area of land herein-
after described, and, thereafter said city planning commission
adopted a resolution recommending the rezoning of said area of land
and also recommending the regulations and restrictions to be incor-
porated therein, a s hereinafter set forth; and
WiqERE~(S said City Council did, on the 9th day of ~ay ,
1947, hold a public meeting in the manner provided by law for the
purpose of giving all persons particularly interested and the
general public an opportunity to be heard and show cause why~the
land hereinafter described should not be rezoned in accordance with
said report of said city planning commission; and
W~EREAS no protest has been made against rezoning of said
land;
NOW, THEREFORE, said City Council does hereby ordain as
follows:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 137 of the City of South San
Francisco entitled: "An Ordinance Establishing Industrial, Business
and Residential Districts or Zones in the City of South San Francisco
and Expressly Repealing Ordinance No. ll7 of the City of South San
Francisco", passed and adopted on the 4th day of May, 1925, is hereby
amended by adding thereto a new section which shall be numbered and
read as follows:
Section ~5 'b.~ The land situate in said city, and here-
inafter described, may be used for multiple family units and for
the additional purpose of operating a clothes-washing industry,
known as "launderette", but subject to the regulations hereinafter
set forth. No building, structure, improvement or premises shall
be used, and no building, structure, or improvement shall be erected,
constructed, established, altered or enlarged, which is designed,
arranged or intended to be occupied for any other purpose than that
of a multiple family dwelling unit or clothes-washing industry, known
as "launderette".
No Business shall be conducted on said land which produces,
causes or emits any dust, gas, smoke, noise, fumes or odors or
vibrations which are or may be detrimental to other property in the
neighborhood or to the welfare of the occupants thereof.
The land herein before referred to is all that certain
tract or parcel of land situate in the City of South San Francisco,
County of San Mateo, State of California, and described as follows:
All that parcel of land situate in the County of San Mateo,
State of California, and bounded by the following described line:
Beginning at a point on the northwesterly line of Linden
Avenue as extended southwesterly from Linden Avenue as shown on
"Map of Plat Number 2, Subdivision of Blocks 98, 99, 119, 122,
Sodth San Francisco", filed for record in Book 3 of Maps at page
4, San Mateo County Records, from which point a concrete monument
marking the beginning of a curve in the northwesterly line of
said Linden Avenue bears south 15 degrees 33 minutes west 1174.00
feet; said concrete monument also bears south 15 degrees 33 minutes
west, 248.20 feet from the northeasterly corner of that certain
7.00 acre parcel of land conveyed by South San Francisco Land &
Improvement Company to E. I. Du Pont De Nemours Company by deed
recorded August 12, 1935, in Book 667 of Official Records at page
37, San Mateo County Records.
Running thence north 74 degrees 27 minutes west 543.00 feet;
thence south 15 degrees 33 minutes west 1085.01 feet to a point
which bears north 15 degrees 33 minutes east 88.99 feet and north
74 degrees 27 minutes west 543.00 feet from the aforesaid concrete
monument; thence south 32 degrees O1 minutes 52 seconds west .431.845
feet to a point in the northerly line of that certain parcel of land
conveyed by South San Francisco Land & Improvement Company to Herman
Poetsch by deed recorded January 12, 1942, in Book 994 of Official
Records at page 383, San Mateo County Records; thence along the line
of said last mentioned parcel of land north 53 degrees west, 90.43
feet; thence south 31 degrees 23 minutes west 151.O0 feet; thence on
the arc of a curve to the left tangent to the preceding course, hav-
ing a radius of 550.00 feet, a central angle of 22 degrees 24 minutes,
an arc distance of 215.02 feet; thence south 8 degrees 59 minutes
west 303.03 feet; thence on the arc of a curve to the left tangent
to the preceding course, having a radius of 64.00 feet, an arc distance
of 37.87 feet; thence on the arc of a curve to the right tangent to

the next succeeding course, having a radius of 5819.65 feet, a
central angle of 0 degrees 18 minutes 34 seconds, an arc distance
of 31.43 feet; thence South 24 degrees 36 minutes 58 seconds East,
208.57 feet to the most southerly corner of last said parcel of land,
said last mentioned point also being on a southwesterly line of a
right of way granted by the South San Francisco Land & Improvement
Company to the Southern Pacific Railroad Company by deed recorded
July 18, 1927, in Book 313 of Official Records at page 51, San Mateo
County Records; thence across said right of way south 24 degrees
36 minutes 58 seconds east 37.097 feet to the northeasterly line of
said right of way which line is also the line of the most Northerly
end of that parcel of land conveyed for a public highway known as
"Huntington Avenue East" by deed recorded December 19, 1932 in Book
578 of Official Records at page 434, San Mateo County Records; thence
southerly along the easterly line of the said Southern Pacific right
of way which line is also the westerly end of said "Huntington
Avenue ~ast" along a curve to the left having a radius of 467.68 feet,
the chord of said curve bears south i degree 48 minutes 52 seconds
east, 129.01 feet to a point in the northeasterly line of a right
of way conveyed by the South San Francisco Land and Improvement
Company to Pacific Gas & Electric Company by Grant of Right of Way
recorded July 31, 1928, in Book 365 of Official Records at page
275; thence along the northeasterly line of the said right of way
of the Pacific Gas & Electric Company, north 24 degrees 36 minutes
58 seconds west 364.78 feet, along a curve to the left tangent
to the preceding course having a radius of 5769.60 feet, a central
angle of l0 degrees 21 minutes 12 seconds, an arc distance of
1042.57 feet; north 34 degrees 58 minutes lO seconds west 492.44
feet, north l0 degrees O1 minute 50 seconds east 42.43 feet,
north 34 degrees 58 minutes l0 seconds west 455.00 feet; thence
leaving said right of way line north 41 degrees 24 minutes 40
seconds east 350.97 feet; thence north 72 degrees 09 minutes
east 335.00 feet; thence south 80 degrees 24 minutes east 340.00
feet; thence north 76 degrees 45 minutes east 755.00 feet;
thence south 74 degrees 27 minutes east $20.00 feet to the westerly
line of said Linden Avenue; thence along the Westerly line of Linden
Avenue south 15 degrees 33 minutes West 60.00 feet to the point of
beginning.
Containing 49.96 acres and being a portion of the
Buri-Buri Rancho.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be published once
in "The Enterprise" a newspaper of general circulation, printed
and published in said city, and shall take effect and be in force
on the expiration of thirty (30) days after its passage and adoption.

Passed and adopted as an ordinance of the City of South
San Francisco at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
