The City Council of the City of South San Francisco does ordain
as follows:
Section ~ of Ordinance No. 216 of the City of South S=n Francisco
entitled: "An ordinance of the City of South S~n Francisco Creating
and Establishing .~ personnel system for said city", adopted by the
City Council of the City of South San Francisco on the 15th day of
December, 19~1, is hereby =m~nded so that said section, as =mended,
sh=ll read as follows:
Section 8. Probationary Period. Ail original and
promotional appointments shall be for. ~ probationary per-
iod of one'(l) year, during which the employee may be
rejected :~t any time without right of appe,~l or hearing
in any m~nner.

reinstated to the position from which he was promoted,

in this ordinance and the rules.
Any employee in the competitive service promoted or

service shall be reinst=ted to the position from which
he was promoted or transferred if within six months ~fter
such promotion or transfer action is t~ken to dismiss
him, unless charges are filed and he is discharged in
· '. the manner provided in this ordinance and the rules
~//~/~{stablished hereunder for positions in the competitive
~,.
Section 2 of this ordinance sh~li be published once in "The
Enterprise", ~ weekly newspaper of general circulation, published
and circulated in s~id City of South San Francisco, within fifteen
(15) days ~fter its passage, and sh~ll t~ke effect ~nd be in.force
upon the expiration of thirty (30)days after its adoption.
