TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2008
CALL ~lY) ORDER: 7:04 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen Addiego, Garbarino and Mullin,
Mayor Pro `kern Matsumoto and Mayor Gonzalez.
Absent: None.
1. Public Comments -comments were limited to items on the Special Meeting Agenda
None.
2. Mayor declares the purpose of the meeting
a. Post colors -Posting was performed by the :Police Department Color Guard.
b. Pledge of Allegiance -Led by Mayor Gonzalez.
3. Introduction of Elected Officials.
Various local, state and federal officials present at the meeting were introduced.
4. Reorganization of the City Council
a. Nominations for Mayor; close of nominations; appointment
Upon Councilman Addiego's nomination of Mayor Pro Tem Matsumoto to serve as
Mayor, the following motion and vote took place: Motion- Councilman
Addiego/Second- Councilman Mullin: to appoint Nlayor Pro Tem Matsumoto to serve as
Mayor. Unanimously approved by voice vote.
b. Remarks from Outgoing Mayor, passing of the gavel to Incoming Mayor
Outgoing Mayor Gonzalez reflected on his term as Mayor, thanked Council and staff for
their hard work and support over the past year and passed the gavel to Mayor Matsumoto.
c. Nominations for Vice Mayor; close of nominations; appointment.

Upon Councilman Mullin's nomination of Councilman Addiego to serve as Vice Mayor,
the following motion and vote took place: Motion- Councilman Mullin/Second-
Councilman Garbarino: to appoint Vice Mayor Addiego to serve as Mayor. Unanimously
approved by voice vote.
d. Oaths of office administered.
Mayor Matsumoto and Vice Mayor Addiego were sworn in by the Honorable State
Senator Leland Yee.
e. Incoming Mayor's remarks.
Mayor Matsumoto made comments on plans and goals for the upcoming year and
thanked Outgoing Mayor Gonzalez for his service.
Presentation to Outgoing Mayor.
Mayor Gonzalez was presented with a Resolution commemorating his term as Mayor and
a gift.
Adjournment.
Beim no further business, Mayor Matsumoto adjourned the mcetin~ at 7:50 p.m.
