Purpose of the meeting: I. Call to Order. TIME- 3:32 P.M. 2. Roll Call. PRESENT: Councilmembers Gupta and Normandy, SSFUSD Board President Bush, and SSFUSD Board Member Ochsenhirt. ABSENT: None. 3. Public Comments. 4. Approval of August 25, 2015 Meeting Minutes. Motion — Board President Bush/Second — Councilman Gupta: to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 25, 2015. Approved by the following Voice Vote: AYES: Boardmembers Addiego, Farrales, Christensen Scannell and Gross, and Chair Cullen. NOES: None. ABSENT: None, ABSTAIN: Vice Chair Krause. 5. Childcare Agreement (Moore). Superintendent Moore reported that the discussion was productive and lead to an agreement. Childcare Agreement (Moore). Superintendent Moore reported that the discussion was productive and lead to an agreement. 6. District Surplus Property (Bush). Board President Bush advised the School District met with AAJRR for a Real Property Workshop in which they discussed definitions of the Education Code, outlined parameters of the S-Zone, and detailed necessary steps for negotiating District Surplus Property uses including affordable housing for their employees and the possibility of collaborating with City Staff. City Manager Futrell responded to public comments explaining that due to a lack of resources and funding, reopening closed schools is not a feasible option. He emphasized the importance of strategic planning given current circumstances, highlighting the desire to ensure housing for public service employees considering the economic climate and the demand for residents' needs to be met. 7. District's assessment of Sunshine Gardens playground (Moore). Boardmember Ochsenhirt reported the initial location discussed was determined unsuitable for a park, and therefore the District has decided not to move forward with the project at this time. Superintendent Moore clarified their staff is still communicating with a Site Committee and intend to continue hashing out possibilities. Traffic before and after school (Bush). Staff and Subcommittee members discussed potential solutions to recurring traffic issues. 9. Future meeting selection date. The future meeting was determined to be scheduled for November 17, 2015, 10. Adjournment.
