CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION OF AWARD OF CONTRACT TO
LOWRIE PAVING CO., INC., TO REPAIR
WESTBOROUGH BOULEVARD.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City of South San Francisco that:
WHEREAS, the City Council, after inspection of Westborough
Boulevard and due consideration of the report and recommenda-
tions of the Director of Public Works, finds and determines
that an emergency exists in the southerly lane of Westborough
Boulevard between Callan Boulevard and Galway Place due to a
road failure which, if not immediately repaired, poses a
hazard to life and property and which requires immediate
work of repair as set forth in the inter-office memorandum
of the Director of Public Works to the City Council dated
March 27, 1968, subject "Westborough Boulevard Repairs";
NOW, THEREFORE, on the aforegoing findings and determina-
tions, the City Council
1. Concludes and declares that public interest and
necessity demand the immediate expenditure of public monies
to safeguard life, health and property by constructing and
installing the emergency repairs set forth in the plans and
specifications entitled "Westborough Boulevard Repairs'~~
and the necessary auxiliary work related thereto;
2. Orders that a contract be awarded in the sum of
Thirty-one Thousand Four Hundred Sixty Dollars ($31,460.00)
to Lowrie Paving Company, Inc., to construct and install
the repair work set forth in the plans and specifications
entitled "Westborough Boulevard Repairs";
3. Orders that a contract be awarded to Arthur t'Buzz"
Haskins, Inc., in the sum of Twenty-four Hundred Dollars
($2400.00) for the construction of a detour road and auxiliary
work;

4. Authorizes the expenditure of Two Thousand Eight
Hundred Nineteen Dollars Fifty Cents ($2819.50) for materials
and labor related to said emergency repairs and auxiliary
work.
5. Authorizes the expenditure of One Thousand Dollars
($1000.00) to Princeton Equipment Company to remove the
existing asphalt pavement and the existing rock base from
the site.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the
City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the 1st day of April , 19 68 ,
by the following vote:
AYES, COUNCILMEN Patrick E. Ahern, Frank J. Bertucelli, Emilio
Cortesi and An'drew Rocca
