A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR SEALED PROPOSALS
AND ESTABLISHING PREVAILING WAGE SCALE
SOUTH AIRPORT BOULEVARD AREA
SEWER PROJECT
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco, California, that
WHEREAS, the said Council did, on the 16th day of Decem-
ber, 1968, adopt its'Resolution of Intention No. 5004 to issue
sewer revenue bonds and to order the construction of sanitary
sewer mains, manholes, pump station and appurtenances in said
City, all as more particularly described and set forth in said
Resolution of Intention;
WHEREAS, the City Council of said City has ascertained
the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality
in which public work is proposed to be performed for work of
a similar character to that described in said Resolution of
Intention;
WHEREAS, "said rate of per di'em wages is set forth and
contained in the specifications for said project, copies of
which are on file in the office of the Director of Public Works
and also in the office of the City' Clerk of said City; and
WHEREAS, this Council has duly considered said scale and
finds the same to be correct in all particulars;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as follows:
1. The City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to
publish twice in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper published
and circulated in said City a notice inviting sealed proposals
or bids for the construction of said improvements, and refer-
ring to the plans and specifications on file in the office of
said City Clerk, the first publication of which notice shall be
at least ten days. prior to the time fixed for opening bids.
2. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a certi-
fied check payable to the City amounting to not less than ten
percent of the bid. No bid shall be considered unless accom-
panied by the check. If the successful bidder fails, neglects,
or refuses for twenty days after written notice of the award
has been mailed him to enter into the contract to perform the
work, the check accompanying his bid, and the amount therein
named, shall be declared forfeited to the City, and shall be
collected by it and paid into its general fund.
3. Said wage scale as set forth in said specifications
is hereby established and adopted as the prevailing rate of
per diem wages for work of a similar character to that above
described in the locality in which such public work is proposed
to be performed.
4. Not less than said prevailing rate of per diem wages
shall be paid for any work proposed to be performed under said
Resolution of Intention.
5. Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to
the City Clerk of said City on or before 2:00 o'~clock p .M.
on the 14th day of Februa,r¥ , 1969, said time
being not less than ten days from the time of the first publi-
cation of Said notice. Bids will be publicly opened, examined
and declared on said day and hour, and referred to and con-
sidered by the City Council at its meeting at 8:00 o'clock P.M.
on February 17 , 1969.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly intro-
duced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
at a regular meeting held this 20th day of January, 1969, by the following
