CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ESTABLISH
AN EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PAY' PLAN.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that it is the intention of said Council to:
1. Establish an educational incentive pay plan or plans,
if financially feasible, designed to recruit and retain
qualified personnel and encourage the completion of
educational and training programs.
2. Design said plan or plans to meet the personnel public
service goals of the Police Department and Fire Depart-
ment, which plan or plans need not be identical if same
are comparable in cost to City, benefits to employees,
and serve the purposes set forth in Paragraphs 1 and 2.
3. Design the plan or plans so that same meet with approval
of both departments, except that should there be dis-
approval by one department, then on recommendation of
the City Manager that the plan or plans meet the pro-
visions of Paragraphs~ 1 and 2, such disapproval shall
not prevent the adoptioJ of the plan or plans, if Council
provides for the~ establishment of a similar plan meeting
the approval of the other department.
4. Complete the evaluation of the plan or plans, including
financial feasibility, and upon approval of same, set
a date for adoption of said plan or plans, which date
shall be within sixty '(60) days after passage of this
Resolution and provide that upon adoption same shall be
effective as of July 1, 1969~.
