A RESOLUTION RECEIVING PRELIMINARY
-- REDEVELOPMENT PLAN AND PROVIDING FOR
TRANSMISSION OF STATEMENT TO TAXING
OFFICERS
GATEWAY REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
RESOLVED, by the Members of the Redevelopment
Agency of the City of South San Francisco, that
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of
South San Francisco in cooperation with the Redevelopment
Agency of the City of South San Francisco, has caused a
Preliminary Redevelopment Plan for redevelopment of the
project area selected for the Gateway Redevelopment Project
to be submitted to this Agency for consideration and review;
and
WHEREAS, said Preliminary Redevelopment Plan as
submitted is consistent with the general community plan of
the City of South San Francisco as it pertains to the project
area and is in accordance with said Community Redevelopment
Law;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS FOUND, DETERMINED and ORDERED
as follows:
1. That the Preliminary Redevelopment Plan for the
Gateway Redevelopment Project, dated April 22, 1980, and this
day presented to this Agency, is hereby acknowledged and
received and adopted by this Agency as the preliminary plan
for the redevelopment of the project area heretofore selected
by said Commission and identified as the Gateway Redevelopment
Project.
2. That the Executive Director is hereby authorized
and directed to transmit to the Auditor/Assessor and Tax
Collector of the County of San Mateo, or to the officer or
officers performing the functions of the AUditor or Assessor
for any taxing agencies which, in levying or collecting its
taxes, do not use the County Assessment Roll or do not collect
its taxes through the County, to the legislative or governing
bodies of such taxing agencies, and to the State Board of
Equalization:
(a) A description of the boundaries of the
project area and the property outside of the project area which
is within 300 feet from the boundaries of the project area as
shown on the base year assessment roll. For such purposes,
"property within 300 feet" means and includes all of any
parcel of property and any taxable property situated thereon,
up to the boundaries of such parcel, when any part of the
parcel is within 300 feet of the boundaries of the project
area.
(b) A statement that a plan for the redevelopment
of the area is being prepared.
(c) A map indicating the boundaries of the project
area and the property outside the project area identified in
subdivision (a) above.
(d) A certified copy of this resolution.
3. That the Executive Director shall also advise
such officials and agencies that it proposes to use the last
equalized assessment roll for the fiscal year 1980- 87 for
the allocation of taxes pursuant to Section 33670 of the
Health and Safety Code, which fiscal year shall be known and
referred to as the "base year assessment roll".
4. That the Auditor/Assessor and Tax Collector
of said San Mateo County together with any other officials
charged with the responsibility of allocating taxes under
said Section 33670 are hereby requested to prepare and
deliver to this Agency and to each of the taxing agencies
a report which shall include the following:
(a) The total assessed valuation of all taxable
property within the project area as shown on the base year
assessment roll.
(b) The identification of each taxing agency
levying taxes in the project area.
(c) The amount of tax revenue to be derived by
each taxing agency from the base year assessment roll from
the project area, including state subventions for homeowners,

business inventory, and similar such subventions.
(d) For each taxing agency, its total ad valorem
tax revenues from all property within its boundaries, whether
inside or outside the project area.
(e) The estimated first year taxes available to
the Agency, if any, based upon information submitted by
the Agency, broken down by taxing agencies.
(f) The assessed valuation of the project area,
by block, for the preceding five years, expect for state
assessed property on the board roll.
(g) The total assessed valuation of all taxable
property outside of the project area which is within 300
feet from the boundaries of the project area as shown on the
base year assessment roll, as identified in subdivision (a)
of Section 2 of this resolution.
5. That the Executive Director is hereby authorized
to request such assistance from the Agency's consultants
including its special counsel and financing consultants and
also to request use of such members of the City of South San
Francisco staff as may be helpful in carrying out the
provisions of this resolution.
