REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO CONSENTING TO THE DESIGNATION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL AS THE LEAD AGENCY FOR THE PREPARATION OF
ENVIRONMENTAL DOCUMENTATION FOR THE EL CAMINO CORRIDOR
REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT, THE AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY'S GENERAL
PLAN/AREA PLAN, AND THE AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY'S ZONING
ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, Section 15050 of the California Environmental
Quality Act Guidelines (the "CEQA Guidelines") requires that when
a project requiring environmental documentation is to be carried
out or approved by more than one public agency, one public agency
shall be responsible for preparing the environmental
documentation for the project. This agency shall be called the
Lead Agency; and
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco (the "City") and
the Redevelopment Agency of the City of South San Francisco (the
"Agency") are the public agencies involved in the preparation and
adoption of a Redevelopment Plan for the E1 Camino Corridor
Redevelopment Project (the "Redevelopment Plan"); and
WHEREAS, in addition to the Redevelopment Plan, the City is
the public agency involved in the preparation of the
environmental documentation to analyze amendments to the City's
Area Plan/General Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, Section 15050 of the CEQA Guidelines provides that
where a project is to be carried out or approved by more than one
public agency, one public agency shall be responsible for
preparing an EIR for the project; and
WHEREAS, the City is the legal entity with final authority
to approve and adopt the Redevelopment Plan, the Amended General
Plan/Area Plan, and Zoning Ordinance Amendment and therefore
should serve as the "Lead Agency", as defined in the CEQA
Guidelines.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Redevelopment Agency
of the City of South San Francisco as follows:
1. That the Agency hereby consents to the designation of
the City Council as Lead Agency; and

2. That the Agency hereby consents to its designation as a
"Responsible Agency" in the preparation and consideration of the
environmental documentation for the Redevelopment Plan, within
the meaning of Public Resources Code Section 21069.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of
South San Francisco at a ~pe¢ia] meeting held on the 18th day of
November, 1992 by the following vote:
AYES: Boardmembers Jack Drago, Joseph A. Fernekes, and Robert Yee
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: Boardmember Roberta Cerri Teglia, and Chairman John R. Penna
ABSENT: None
