REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING
OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO TO CONSIDER THE
PROPOSED REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE EL CAMINO
CORRIDOR REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of South San
Francisco (the "Agency") staff has prepared a Redevelopment
Plan for the E1 Camino Corridor Redevelopment Project Area (the
"Plan") and Report thereon, which Report includes the
Environmental Impact Report on the Project; and
WHEREAS, the Agency has authorized submittal of the Plan
and Report to the Planning Commission for its report and
recommendations and to the City Council of the city of South
San Francisco (the "City Council") for its review; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Community
Redevelopment Law, the Agency desires to hold a joint public
hearing with the City Council on Wednesday, May 26, 1993,
commencing at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Municipal
Services Building, located at 33 Arroyo Drive, South San
Francisco, California, for the purpose of considering the Plan
and Report thereon; and
WHEREAS, any person or organization desiring to be heard
at the public hearing will be afforded an opportunity to do so.
To that end, and pursuant to State law, the Agency desires the
publication of a "Legal Notice - Joint Public Hearing" in a
newspaper of general circulation. The Agency further desires
written notice, return receipt requested, be sent to all
property owners within the proposed Project Area boundaries as
more particularly set forth below. A copy of the Legal Notice
- Joint Public Hearing substantially in the form to be
published and mailed is attached to this Resolution as Exhibit
"A" and is incorporated in this Resolution by this reference;
and
WHEREAS, the Agency further desires that copies of the
Legal Notice - Joint Public Hearing be mailed to each taxing
agency levying taxes on the property in the proposed Project
Area, as more particularly set forth below.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Redevelopment Agency
of the City of South Francisco that the Agency approves the
convening of a joint public hearing with the City Council on
May 26, 1993 at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the
Municipal Services Building, located at 33 Arroyo Drive, South
San Francisco, California, for the purposes of considering the
Plan and the Report thereon for the proposed Project Area.
-- BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon approval by the City
Council of a joint public hearing on that date, the Executive
Director of the Agency is hereby directed to:
(a) publish the above described "Legal Notice - Joint
Public Hearing" not less than once a week for four successive
weeks prior to the aforesaid public hearing in the Enterprise-
Journal, a newspaper of general circulation for the City of
South San Francisco;
(b) mail a copy of the aforesaid Notice to the last known
assessee of each parcel of land in the area designated in the
aforesaid Plan, at the assessee's last known address as shown
on the last equalized assessment roll of the San Mateo County;
and
(c) mail a copy of the aforesaid Notice to the governing
body of each of the taxing agencies which levies taxes upon any
property in the Project Area designated in the proposed Plan.
All mailings as herein above provided shall be by
certified mail with return receipt requested.

LEGAL NOTICE
JOINT PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the city Council of the City of
South San Francisco (the "City Council") and the Redevelopment
Agency of the city of South San Francisco (the "Agency") will
hold a joint public hearing on Wednesday, May 26, 1993 at 7:00
p.m. in the Community Room of the Municipal Services Building,
located at 33 Arroyo Drive, South San Francisco, California. The
hearing may be continued from time to time until completed. Any
person desiring the opportunity to be heard will be afforded an
opportunity to do so.
The purpose of the hearing is to consider the adoption of
the Redevelopment Plan for the E1 Camino Corridor Redevelopment
Project Area (the "Redevelopment Plan"). A further purpose of
the hearing is to consider approval of an Environmental Impact
Report regarding environmental impacts of the Redevelopment Plan
and proposed amendments to the city's General Plan (the "EIR"),
prepared pursuant to State Law.
The Redevelopment Plan proposes to remove existing blighting
conditions in the Project Area in order to create developable
parcels. The Agency will participate with SAMTRANS and BART to
underground the proposed BART extension which will run along the
existing railroad right-of-way to ensure that parcels which
currently have limited use become.more developable. In addition,
the project includes covering portions of Colma Creek and
improvements to Oak Avenue to provide additional development
opportunities. The Agency will also assist in the development of
transit-oriented housing in the Project Area.
The Project Area is situated in the city of South San
Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California, and is more
particularly described in Exhibit A following this Legal Notice,
which legal description is, by this reference, incorporated
herein.
Any and all persons having any comments on or objections to
the proposed Redevelopment Plan or the regularity of any prior
proceeding or who wish to speak on any issue raised by the
Redevelopment Plan or the EIR may appear aG the hearing and show
cause why the proposed Redevelopment Plan should not be adopted.
In addition, at any time not later than the time set forth for
the hearing on the Redevelopment Plan, any person may file in

writing with the City Clerk of the City of South San Francisco a
statement of objections to the proposed Redevelopment Plan.
In accordance with the California Community Redevelopment
Law, the Agency has prepared a Report on the Redevelopment Plan.
Furthermore, the Report on the Redevelopment Plan will be open
for discussion at the hearing. The R~development Plan, Report on
the Redevelopment Plan, and Environmental Impact Report are
available for inspection in the offices of the Redevelopment
Agency of the City of South San Francisco, located at 400 Grand
Avenue, South San Francisco, California.
If any person desires to challenge in court the adoption of
the proposed Redevelopment Plan, the proposed approval of the EIR
or any proceedings in connection therewith, they may be limited
to raising only those issues that they or someone else raised at
the hearing described in this Notice, or in written
correspondence delivered to the Agency at, or prior to, the
public hearing.
This Notice is published pursuant to resolutions of the City
Council of the city of South San Francisco and the Redevelopment
Agency of the city of South San Francisco.
