DEED TO SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO LAND AND IMPROVE-
MENT CO~PANY.
IN THE MATTER 0F CLOSING A PORTION O~ BIRCH
AVENUE.
-WHEREAS the City Council of the City of South San ~rancisco, a municipal cor-
poration in the County of San Mateo, State of California, -did, on the 19th day of
M~y, 1930, pass a resolution declaring its intention to order the following work
to be done in said City, to-wit:
That the portion of Birch Avenue situate in the City of South San Francisco,
described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the westerly line of Birch Avenue, said point being
also the most southeasterly corner of Lot No. lC,. Block No. 8, as said lot and
block are shown on that certain map entitled "Parkway Terrace," filed for record
December 23, 19E6, in Volume l~ of Maps at pages 63 and 6~ San Mateo County Re-
cords; running thence from said point of beginning South ?m° 27' East 50 feet; thence
South lBo 3Z' West 8~.98 feet; thence on the arc of a curve to the left tangent at
its beginning to the last mentioned line, and having a radius of 7~ feet, a dis-
tance of 6~.30 feet~; thence South 33o ZA' 18" East 23.63 feet; thence on ~the arc of
a curve to the right, tangent at its~beginning to the last mentioned line, and hav-
ing a radius of 160 feet a dist~uce of ~9.61 feet to the northwesterly line of Spruce
Avenue; thence South B6° 25' A2" West ~5.13 feet; thence North l~° 3~ East ~3.E6 feet;
thence on the arc of a curve to the left tangent at its beginning to the last men-
tioned line and having a radius of ?9.8? feet, a distance of 88.49 feet; thence
North 3~° ZAP' 18" West 23.63 feet; thence on the arc of a c~zrve to the right,
tangent at its beginning to the last mentioned l~ne and having a radius of 125 feet,
a distance of'107.16 feet~ thence North l~ ~' East 83.98 feet to the point of
beginning, be vacated and closed up in whole,~ to which s~id resolution of intention
now on file in said matter, reference is~hereby made for further particulars, and
the same is made a part hereof; and
WMEREAS the Street Superintendent of sSaid City of South San Francisco did
thereupon cause notice of the passage of said resolution to be p~sted and published
in the m~nner and form required by law and by said resolution of intention, re-
ference being hereby made for further particulars to the affidavit of George A.
Eneese, said Street Superintendent, and to the affidavit of A. E. Bramble, which
affidavits are now on file in said matter in the office of the City Clerk of said
City Council, and are made a part hereof;~and
WHEREAs no written objections or protests ~gainst said proposed work, or
against any portion thereof, were at any time,filed with or received by the Clerk
of said City Council or this City Council at any time subsequent to the publica-
tion of the said notices hereinbefore mentioned~ and
WMEREAS, after more than ten days had elapsed after the expiration of the
time of publication of said notice, said City Council did, on the 7th day of
July, 1930, pass a resolution wherein that portion of Birch Avenue, herein-
before described, was v~c~ted, abandoned, discontinued and closed up, to which
resolution reference is hereby ~ade, and the same ~s made ~ part hereof; and
WHERE~S the legal title to the land hereinbefore described is vested in
South San Francisco Land ~nd Improvement Company, a corporation organized and
existing under the laws of the State of C~lifornia, and the right of the City
of South San Francisco existing ~before the closing of said street or avenue,
as aforesaid, consisted only of an e~Sement therein;
THEREFORE resolved by the City Council of the City of South San Fran-
cisco that the l~a2or of said City and the City Clerk be, and they hereby are
authorized, empowered and directed in behalf of ~said City of South San Fran-
cisco, to execute ~nd deliver to South San Francisco Land ~nd Improvement
Company, a corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of
California, a quitclaim deed of all the right, title and interest of the
City of South San Francisco in and to the portion o~ the street or avenue
hereinbefore described.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduc-
ed and adopted by the Dity Council o~ the City of South San Francisco. at a
regular meeting held this 7th day of July. 19~0, by the following vo~e:
