November Z0, 1891, in Volume "E" of Naps ~t page 62: The Superintendent of Streets is hereby directed to ca~,zse to be conspicuously posted in front of all priperty in front of which said nuisance exists, and not more th~u3 one hundred (100) feet in distance apart, but not less than three (3) in all, notices headed "Notice~ to Destroy Weedw" in the maUner and i°orm required by law. All ol' the herein proposed work of abating said nuisance shall be done in pursuance,~of an act of the Legislature of the State of C~lifornia entitled "An ~ct authorizing municipalities to declare noxious or dangerous weeds growing upon the streets or sidewalks, or upon private property within municipalities, tc be a public nuisance, creating a lien upon the property fronting upon such streets or .~idewalks or upon which such nuisan'ce exists~ for the cost o~' abating the same", approved ~ay 26, 191~.
