RESOLUTION FOR THE WIDENING 0F THE UNDERPASS
IN SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO.
WHEREAS the number of a6cidents on the Bayshore Highway is increasing to a
point where the highway is becoming unsafe for public use, and
WHERFAS the underpass structure on Bayshore highway at South San ~rancisco
is a contributing factor to these accidents, and
~'~'HERF~S this structure is too small to handle peak traffic loads, impedes
ordinary daily travel and is particularly hazardous by reason of a blind
curve, and
WHEREAS the increasing traffic load and increasing number of accidents demand
that this situation be given immediate attention, now therefore
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of South San Francisco that we urge
the State Highway Division to widen the underpass at. South San Francisco as
soon as possible, to provide for separate north and south bound traffic lanes.
in the interest of public safety and in the interest of facilitating peninsula
automobile traffic.
