WHEREAS weeds a~e now growing upon the streets of the city of South San
Francisco designated as follows, to-w~t:
Armour Avenue from the westerly line of San Bruno Road to the easterI~ line
of Olive Avenue; Aspen Avenue for the full length thereof; Pine Avenue from the west-
erly line of San Bruno Road to the westerly end of said Pine Avenue; California Avenue
from the westerly line of San Bruno Road to the end of California Avenue; Lux AvenUe
from the westerly line of San Bruno Road to the easterly line of Maple Avenue; Miller
Avenue from the westerly line of San Bruno Road to the easterly line of Ohestnut Avenue;

Shereof; and Braden Avenue for the full length thereof, excepting all street and alley
intersections with said Braden Avenue; the portions of A Street, B Street, C Street
and D Street extending southerly from the right of way of the Southern Pacific Railroad
Company, and the portions of let Street, 2nd Street and 3rd Street extending westerly
from said right of way, excepting all street intersections with said A Street, B:,Street,
D Street, 1st Street, 2nd Street and Srd Street; and
WHEREAS said weeds have attained such a large g~owth as to become a fire menace
when said weeds shall become dry and are dangerous;
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the weeds
growing on all the portions of the streets hereinbefore described be, and the same hereby
are dec~ to be a public nuisance and that it is the intention of said City Council
to order said muisance to be abated;
Said City Council hereby determines and declares that said muisance
exists in front of the following described property, all of which is situate in the
City of South San Francisco, County of San Marco, State of California, and particularly
described as follows, to-wit:
Block one hundred thirty-three (135), as shown upon that certain map
entitled "Plat 'of Buckingham's ~ubdivi si on of Block 155, South San Francisco,
which map was filed in tthe office of the County Recorder of the County of San Mateo~

There is excepted from the streets and avenues hereinbefore described, all
paved portions thereof and all sidewalk areas and areas of existing driveways which are
covered with concrete or other sidewalk material, There is also excepted from said
streets and avenues the portions thereof from which weeds have been removed since the
10th day of May, 193V, and also the portions of said street and avenues upon which,
for any cause, weeds are not now growing, There is alee excepted from the land here-.
inbefore described all land in front of which the entire area between the curb and
corresponding property line is covered by a sidewalk, a__r~_ also all land in front of
which weeds have~?been removed since the 10th day of May, 1937, and all land in front
of which weeds are not now growing and do not now exist,
The Superintendent of Streets is hereby directed to cause to be conspicuoulsy
posted in front of all property in front of which said nuisance exists, and not more than
one hundred (100) feet in distance apart, but not less than three (9) feet in all, notices

headed "Notice to Destroy Weeds" in the manner and form required by law.
All of the herein proposed work of abating said nuisance shall be
done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California en-
titled "An act authorizing municipalities, to declare noxious or dangerous
weeds ~owtng upon. the streets or sidewalks, or upon private property within
municipalities, to be a public nuisance, creating a lien upon the propex~y
fronting upon such streets or sidewalks or upon which such nuisance exists
fo~ the cost of abating the same," approved May 26, 1915.
