AMERICAN LEGION
WHEREAS there is now standing in t he park of the City of South San Franc i sco,
at Orange.Avenue, a building heretofore used in connection with construction work in
said city, and
WHEREAS Bernard McCaffery Poet of the American Legion, located at South San
Francisco, California, desires t o use said building for its activities and al so de-
sires that said building may be used, under the sponsorship of said Bernard McCaffery
Post of the American Legion, by the following organizations: The Boy. Scouts; Sea
Scoutss~ Girl Scouts; Bernard McCaffery Squardon~ Sons .of the Americam LegionS Women's
Atuxiliary,B~rnaxdMcCaffery Post of the American Legion, and
WHEREAS said Bernard McCaffery Post of t he American Legion is willing to expend
approximately Eight Hundred Dollars ($800.00) in Lmproving said building, in order to
put the same in condition to be used for the purpose of said organization and to move
said building to a more suitable location in said park;
RESOLVED by the city council of the city of South San Francisco that said city
execute to said Bernard McCaffery Post of the American Legion a lease of said build-
lng for a l~sriod of twenty (20) years, commencing on the 18th day of October, 19~7,~
consideration of the expenditure of approximately the sum. of Eight Hundred Dollars
($800.00) by said Bernard McCaffery Post of the American Legion, in improving and
moving said building, as hereinbefore recited, and upon the express condition that,
unless approximately the sum of eight Hundred Dollars ($800.007 shall have be en
expended for the purposes hereinbefore recited within one hundred and twenty (120)
days from the 18th day of October, 1987, said Bernard McCaffery Post of the American
Legion shall have no rights under such lease following the expriation of said period
of One hundred and twenty-days (120) days. All materials which shall be used in
connection with the improvement of said building shall become and be the property of
the city of South San Francisco
