POST OF THE AMERICAN LEGION,
~EREAS there is now standing in the pa~k ef the city of South San F~ancis~,
at Orange Avenue, a building heretofore used in connection with construction work in ssi
city; and ·
WHEREAS Bernard Mccaffery Post of the American Legion, located at South San
F~ancisco, California, desires to use said building for its activities and also desires
that said building may be used, under the sponsorship of said Bernax~t McOaffery Post of
the American Legion, by the following organizations: The Boy Scouts; Sea Scouts; Gi~l
Scouts;' Bernard~McCaffery Squadron. Sons of the American Legion, Women's Auxiliax,j,
Bernard McCaffery Post of the Marican Legion; and
lgHEREAS said Bexmard $cCaffery Post of the American Legion is willing te
expend approximately Eight Hundred Dollars ($800.00) in improving said building, in
order to put the same in condition to be used for the purposes of said organization
and in moving said building tea more suitable location in said park;
RESOLVED by the city council of the city of South San F~anctsce th_~_t said
city execute to said Bernaa~l McCaffery Post of the Americ an Legion a lease of said
building for a period of twenty (20) years commencing on the 1st day of November, 1937,
in consideration of the expenditure of approximately the sum of Eight Hundred Dollars
($800.00) by said Bernard MCCaffery Post of the Amerioab Legion, in improving and mov-
ing said building, as hereinbefore recited, and upon the express condition that, unless
approximately the sum of Eight Hundred Dollars ($800.00) Shall have been expended for
the purposes hereinbefore recited within one hundred and twenty (120) days from the 1st
day of November, 1937, said Bemmawd McOaffery Post of the American Legion shall have no
right, s under such lease following the expiration of said period of one hundred and twenty.
(120) days. It is understood that the place to which Sa i d building ~ey be moved in sat
park, shall be subject to the approval of said city council. Ail materials which shall
be used in connection with the improvement of said building shall become the property
of said City of South San Francisco. The expenditure of approximately said sum of
Eight Hundred Dollars ($800.00) shall be deemed to constitute the rent for the use of
said building during the term hereby authroized.
The mayor of said city and the city clerk are hereby authorized and directed,
in the name of said City of South San Francisco and under its seal, to execute to said
Bernard NcCaffery Post of the American Legion a lease in accordance with the provisions
of this resolution.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the city council of the City of South San F~ancisco, this 1st day of
November, 193V, by the following vote:
