RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ABATE WEEDS
1938,
WHEREAS weeds are now growing upon the streets of the
ciaco designated as follows, to-wit:

WHEREAS said weeds have attained such a large growth as to become a fire menace
when said weeds shall become dry and are dangerous;
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco tha~ the weeds
growing on all the portions of the streets hereinbefore described be, and the same here-
by are declared to be a public nuisance and that it is the intention of said City Council
to order said nuisance to be abated;
Said city council hereby determines and declares that s~id nuisance · xistS
in front of the following described property, all of which is situate in the City of
South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California, and particularly described
as follows, to-wit:

The map last hereinbefore referred to is that certain m ap entitled "Section west
of Railroad of the town of Baden", which map was filed in the office of the County
Recorder of the County of San Mateo, California, November 30, 1891, in ~olume "E"
of Maps at page 62;
T~ere is excepted from the streets and avenues hereinbe fore described, all
pascal portions thereof and all sidewalk areas and areas of existing driveways
which a~e covered with concrete or other sidewalk material. There is also excepted
from said from said streets and avenues the portions there o f from which weeds have
been removed since the 10th day of May, 193V, and also the portions of said streets
and avenues upon ~ebich, for any cause, weeds are not now growing. There is also
exepted from the land hereinbefore described all land in front of which the entire
area between the curb and correspo%nding property line is covered by a sidewalk, and
also all land in front of which weeds have been ~emoved since the 10th day of May,
1937, and all land in front of which weeds are nbt now growing and do not now exist.

The Superintendent of Streets is hereby directed to cause to be con-
spicuously posted in front of all property.in front of ~hich said nuiscaue
exists, and not more than one hundred (100~ feet in distance apart, but not
less than t~ree (5) in all, notices headed ~Notice to Destroy Weeds# in the
manner and form required by law.
All of the herein 'px~. posed work of abating said nUisance shall be done
in pursuance of an act of the Legilsature ofthe State of California entitle d
"An act authorizing municipalities, to declare noxious or dangerous weeds
growing upon the streets or sidewalks, or upon pr~wate prepmt2 within muni-
cipalities, to be a public nuisance, creating a lien upon the property front-
ing upon such streets or sidewalks or upon-which such nuisance exists for the
cost of abating the same", approved May 2a, 1915.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution of i~xtention was regul ar-
ly introduced and adopted by the city council of the city of South San Francisco,
this lath day of May, 1958, by the following vote:
