URGE THE ADOPTION OF ASSEMBLY BILL N0.§96.
WHEREAS, in the seBsion of the legislature of the State of California held in
1925, there as passed an Act entitled "An act granting to thecity of So uth Sam Fran-
cisco the salt marsh, tide and submerged l~ud of the State of California, including
the right ~to wharf out therefrom to the city of South San Francis co-and regalating the
management, use and control thereof," which act was approved Apr~ 10, 192§; amd
WHEREAS the land described in AssemBly Bill No. 596 is a portion of the land
covered by the above mentioned act; and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the city council of the City of South San Francisco,
the land described in said Assembly Bill No. 596 is useless for the promotion or
accommodation of commerce and navigation and is also useless for the establishment, im-
provement and conduct of a harbor, and for the construction, maintenance or operation of
wharves, piers, slips, quays or other utility, structures amd appliances, necessary or
convenient for the promotion and accommodation of commerce and navigation; and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of said city council, said land may be filled and re-
claimed and may be used for industrial purposes, by reason of the fact t~t said land
forms a part of an area of said city which can be developed for industrial purposes;
RESOLVED by the .city council of the City of South San Fran~sco ~hat said ci~
council recommends the adoption of .assembly bill No. 596 by the legislatu~e oF the State
of California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Senator Harry L. Parkman and Assemblyman H. W. Call
be, and they hereby are respectl~ully requested to give their support to the passage of
said bill.
