RESOLUTION OF I~TENTION, NO. 1525
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH S~N FRANCISCO
DECLARING ITS INTE%!TION TO I~:tOVE ~!ILLSIDE BOULEVARD FROM LINDEN
AV~JE TO THE '.~TERLY LINE OF HIGH SCHOOL TER. RACE NO. 2.
I~EREAS public interest and convenience require that the work and improve-
ments hereinafter described should be done; and
~EAS in the opinion of the C~ty Council of the City of South San Francisco,
said contemplated work and improvements are, and are hereby declared to be of more than local or
ordinary public benefit; and
~StEREAS, on the 16th day of January, 1950, said city council adopted a reso-
lution, in which the city clerk was directed to mail prepaid post cards giving notice of the
proposal of said city council to do said work, in which resolution~said city council defined the
district of land hereinafter described as the land to be specially assessed to pay the cost of
said improvements and determined that said improvements be constructed under the proceedihgs
taken pursuant to the provisions of the Improvement Act of 1911, and that serial bonds to rep-
resent unpaid assessments at the rate of five percent (~%) per annum, be issued in the manner
provided by Division 10 of the Streets and Highways Code, in the Improvement Bond Act of 1915,
the last installment of which bonds will mature fourteen (l&) years from the 2nd day of July
next succeeding ten (10) months from their date; and
~EREAS such cards were mailed to each person and corporation to whom and to
which land in the proposed assessment district, which is the district of land hereinafter described,
is assessed on the last equalized county assessment roll, at his and its residence is sho~-~m upon
said roll, and any person, whether owning in fee or having a lien or legal, or equitable interest
in said land, within said proposed district, who has filed with the city clerk his name and address,
and the designation of the land in which he is interested, as appears by the affidavit of Daniel
J. Hyland, said city Clerk; and
?~IEREAS no person~or other c-,mcr of land i in the area of said district
in said resolution described, and hereinafter described, has demanded proceedings Under
the "SpeciAl Assessment Investigation, Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931; and
~EREAS an estimate of the cost and expense of said work has been
filed with the city clerk of said city;
NOW, THEREFORE, resolved by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that it is the intention of said city councilto order the following work and
improvements to be done in said city, to-wit:
The improvement of Hillside Boulevard from Linden Avenue to the west-
erly line of High School Terrace No. 2, by constructing sanitary manholes, sanitary sewers,
drainage facilities, concrete curbs and gutters, concrete sidewalks, and by widening the
existing pavement.
All the work herein provided for shall be done in accordance with the
special plans, profiles and specifications for said work, and at the location and to the
grades shown upon said plans, which plans, profiles and specifications were heretofore
adopted by said city council on the 16th day of January, 1950, and are now on file in the
officeof the city clerk of said city.
Reference is hereby m~de to said plans, profiles and specifications
for a full description of said work and for the location and the extent of the work to
be done hereunder, and for the grades to w~ich said work is to be done and for a parti-
cular description of the boundsries of the district herein mentioned.
Said city council does hereby determine and declare that said pro-
posed work and improvements are of more than local or ordinary public benefit and will
affect and benefit the land and district hereinafter described, which said district is
hereby declared to be the district benefited by said work and improvements and that,
therefore, the entire cost and expense of said work and improvements shall be and hereby
are made chargeable a~ainst and shall be assessed upon said land and district, except as
hereinafter expressly provided, which district is within the City of South San Francisco,
County of San Mateo, State of California, and particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the northerly corner of Lot 12 as shown on the map of
"High School Pa.wk Terrace Map No. 2" recorded in Book 27 of Maps at pa~e lO, San Mateo
County records, thence south ~7° 03' 32" west 100 feet to the westerly corner of said Lot
12; thence along the southwesterly line of the said subdivision, "High School Park
Terrace Map No. 2", south d2° 56' 2~" east 17A.17' and southeasterly along a curve to the
left, tangent to the preceding course, with a radius of 1135 feet a distance of ~07.66
feet to the southerly corner of said subdivision; thence southeasterly along a line
parallel to and 100 feet at right angles southwesterly from the southwesterly line of
Hillside Boulevard lO&O feet more or les.~ to a ooint in the northwesterly line of the
0.216 acre parcel of land described in the deed recorded under file number dd081 F, San
Mateo County records~ thence along the northwesterly and southwesterly lines of said 0.216
acre parcel south 55~ 39' 53" west 17.16 feet and south 56° 3~' l~" east 105.08 feet to
the westerly line of the 0.265 acre parcel described in the deed recorded under file num-
ber 80513 H, San Mateo County records; thence along said westerly line south 15° 33'
west 100 feet to the northeasterly line of Armour Avenue; thence along the northeasterly
li~e of Armour Avenue, South 56° 3d' l~" east 58.91 feet to the westerly line of Linden
Avenue; thence aloa? the westerly line of LinUen Avenue along a curve to the right with a
radius of 309.90 feet a distance of 166.66 feet to the center line of Hillside Boulevard:
thence northwesterly along the center line of Hillside Boulevard 1833.57 feet to a ooint
on the prolongation northeasterly of the northwesterly line of the aforesaid Lot 12;
thence along said prolongation south 47° 03' 32" west 35 feet to the point of beginning.
The sum of ONE THOUSAND FIVE WUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($1,575.00)
w-ill be contributed toward the payment of the cost of said improvements by the City of
South San Francisco, and the sum of TWO THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED T~.[TY DOLLARS ($2,620.00)
will be contributed by South San Francisco Unified School District toward the payment of
the cost of said improvements.
Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assess-
ments, and to bear interest at the rate of FIVE PERCF~T (5%) per annum, will be issued
hereunder in the manner provided by Division lO of the Streets and Highways Code, in the
Improvement Bond Act of 1915, and the last [nstallment of which bonds shall mature fourteen
(l~) years from the 2nd day of July next succeeding ten (lO) months from their date.
The South San Francisco Journal, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed and ~blished in said City of South San Francisco, is hereby designated as the
newspaper in which this resolution of intention shall be published, snd the city clerk is
hereby directed to cause this resolution to be published by two (2) insertions in the
manner and form required by law.
Said city clerk is also directed to mail a notice of the adoption of
said resolution of intention, postage prepaid, to all persons owning real property which is
proposed to be assessed to pay any Dart of the cost of said work, whose names and addresses
appear on the last equalized assessment roll as known to said city clerk.
The superintendent of streets shall cause to be conspicuously posted
along the l~ne of said contemplated work and improvements, and not more than three hundred
(300) feet in distance apart, but not less than three(3) in all., and alon~ the open
streets within said district at not more than three hundred (300) feet in distance apart
on each said street, ~otices of the oassage of this resol,~tionof intention, in the manner
and form required by the "Improvement Act of 1911".
Notice is hereby given that on Monday, the 17th day of April, 1950, at
the hour of 8 o'clock p. m., in the council chamber of said city council of said City of
South San Francisco, any and all persons having any objection to the proposed work and
improvements may appear befor~ said city council and show cause why said proposed work and
improvements should not be carried out in accordance with this resolution.

Except as hereinbefore provided, all/the ~berein proposed work shall be done
oursuant to an ~ct of the Legislature of the Stateof California designated as "Improvement Act
of 1911."
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and
adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this 20th day of March, 1950, by
the following work:
