HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1540-1950RESOLUTION NO. 15~0 RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPEOVEMENT OF HILLSIDE BOULEVARD FROM LINDEN AVENUE TO HIGH SCHOOL TERRACE NO. 2. RESOLVED THAT, whereas the city council of the City of South San Francisco did, on the 16th day of January, 1950, pass its Resolution of Intention No. 1525 to order the improvement work described in said resolution to be done in said city, which Resolution of Intention was duly and re- gularly published, as required by law, as appears from the Affidavit of Myra R. Spangler, now on file inthe office of the city clerk; and WHEREAS notices of the passage of said Resolution of Intention were duly and regularly posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvement and in f~ont of all' property liable to be assessed therefore, and along all' the open streets within the district in said Resolution of Intention described, in the manner and formed recruited by law, as appears from the Affidavit of Henry L. Schweining, Superintendent of Streets of said city, now on file in the office of the city clerk of said city; and WHEREAS all objections or protests against said work have been overruled by said city council; NOW, THEREFORE, REsoLVED that public interest and convenience rquire the improvement work described in said Resolution of Intention to be done and said city council hereby orders said work to be done. Said work consists of the improvement of Hillside Boulevard from Linden Avenue to the westerly line of High School Terrace No. 2 by constructing sanitary manholes, sanitary sewers, drainage faci- lities, concrete curb and gutters, concrete sidewalks, and by widening the existing ~avement. Said city council hereby ascertains that the general prevailing rates of per diem wages and the Eeneral prevailing rates for legal holiday and overtime work applicable to said work to be done are as follows: CLASSIFICATION HOURLY WAGE RATE Carpenter $ 2.16 Cement finisher 2.15 Asphalt Plant Engineer 2.225 Box men or mixer box operator (concrete or asphalt plant) 1.925 Compressor 1.875 Concrete Mixers (over one yard) 2.175 Fireman in Hot Plant 1.875 Mechanical Finishers (concrete or asphalt) (Airports highway or street work) 2.225 Pavement breakers, Emsco Type 2.275 Power shovels and/or other excavating equipment with shovel-type controls, up to and including one yard 2.525 LeTourneau pulls (Jeeps, Terra Corbras, La Plant Choate, and similar types of equipment) 2.375 Rollers 2.225 Screen Man 2.275 Spreader Machines (Barber Green Jeager, etc.) (Engineer and screen man used in operation 2.225 Tractors 2.225 Tractor-type shovel loader (scale not to apply when used as blade or bulldozer) 2.375 472 LABORERS HOURLYWAGE ~ATE Group No. 1 Header Board, Cribbers, Lagging Blasters-powdermen, drillers, high scalers, sand blasters, wagon drill, Jackhammer pipelayers, Banders $ 1.77½ Group No. 3 General Laborers, landscape laborers and gardeners, Bridge laborers, construction laborers, all clean un work of debris, grounds and buildings, watchman, flagmen, guards, wrecking laborers, main- tenance and repair trackmen, street car and railroad construction laborers, a~phalt shovelers, con- crete laborers (wet or dry) PLUMBERS Plumbers, Steamfitters, Welders, Caulkers, Pipe fitting of all description (December 23rd) OVERTIME Bricklayer ..... 2 times regular rate Laborers 1~ times regular rate except Saturday, Sunday Holidays 2 times regular rate Material Teamsters --- 1~ times regular rate The following will be considered holidays: New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Admission Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and Saturdays. The city clerk is hereby directed to post a notice of said work, together with the plans and speci- fications, near the council chamber door, inviting sealed proposals for doing the work ordered. Is also directed to publish a notice inviting sealed proposals and referring to the specifications posted or on file, by two (2) insertions in the "Enterprise-South San Francisco Journal," a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City of .South San Francisco and hereby designated for that purpose. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced ~nd adopted by the city council of the City of South San Francisco, this 5th day of June, 1950, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen, Victor Boido, Charles K.
