A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIl, OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
PROPOSING A RF~SOLUTION OF INTENTION TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE BOARD OF
SI~PERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATFD AND TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF COLMA.
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of South San Francisco has adopted plans and speci-
fications for the construction of a vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewer between Chestnut Avenue and E1
Camino Real, to which plans and specifications reference is hereby made; and
k~?REAS a portion of the land in which it is proposed to construct said sewer is situate
outside of said City of South San Francisco, but in a portion of land situate in the County of San
Mateo and contiguous to said City of South San Francisco, and a portion of the lan~,in which it is
proposed to constn~ct said sewer, is situate in the City of Colma, a municipal corporation in the
County of San Mateo, State of California; and
~]~EREAS the district to be benefited by the constm~ction of s$id sewer, which district
is hereinafter described,' is land situate entirely in said City of South San Francisco, and said city
council does not propose to assess any portion of the cost of constructing said sewer upon an~ land
which is not situate in said City of South San Francisco;
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that said city council
request the consent of the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo for permission to cons-
truct in ]and situate outside of said City of South San Francisco a portion of said sewer and also
request permission of the City Council of said City of Colma to construct a portion of said sewer in
said City of Colma.
The city council hereby proposes a resolution of intention for said work in the form
hereinafter set forth, which form of resolution of intention shall be submitted to said Board of
Supervisors of the County of San Mateo and to the City Council of said City of Colma. The following
is the form of resolution of intention whibh said City Council of the City of South San Francisco
proposes to adopt:

!~EREAS public interest and convenience require that the work and improvements here-
inafter described should be done; and
kStEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council of the City of So~th San Francisco, said
contemplated work and improvement is, and is hereby declared to be of more than local or ordinary
public benefit; and
hS{EREAS an estimate of the cost and expense of said work has been filed with the city
clef k of said city;
NOW, THEREFORE, resolved by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that
it is the intention of said city council to order the following work and improvements to be done in
said city:
The constm]ction of a vitrified clay pipe
sanitary sewer between Chestnut Avenue and E1
Camino Real.
All the work herein provided for shall be done in accordance with the special plans,
profiles and specifications for said work and at the location and to the ~rade shown upon said plans,
which plans, profiles, and specifications were heretofore adopted by said city council on the 30th
day of October, 1950, and are now on file in the office of said city clerk.
Reference is hereby made to said plans, profiles, and specifications for a ~11 des-
cription of said work and for the location and the extent of the work to be done hereunder and for the
grades to which said work is to be done, and for a partic-lar description of the boundaries of the
district herein mentioned.
Said city council does hereby determine and declare that said proposed work and im-
provement is of more than local or ordinary public benefit and will affect and benefit the Iands and
district hereinafter described, which said district is hereby declared to be the district benefited
by said work and improvements and that, therefore, the entire cost and exoense of said work and im-
provements shall be and are hereby made chargeable a~ainst and shall be assessed upon said lands and
district, except as hereinafter expressly orovided, which district is within the Cityof South San
Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California, and particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the corporate limits line of the City of South San Francisco,
said point being the point of intersection of the Northeasterly lineof the 80 foot
right of way of the City and County of San Francisco with the Northwesterly line of
Block 9, as said block is designated on the map entitled "RANCHO BURI BURI SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA", which map was filed in the office of the Recorder of the
County of San Mateo, State of California, on March 22, 19~6 in Book 25 of Maps at
Pages 28, 29, and 30; thence from said point of beginning along said Northwesterly
line of Rancho 5]ri ~ri Subdivision No. 1, and along the Southwesterly prolongation
of said line Southwesterly to the Southwesterly line of Junipero Serra Boulevard and
the corporate limits line of the City of South San Francisco; thence along said cor-
porate limits line the following courses: Northwesterly along the Southwesterly
line of Junipero Serra Boulevard to the Southeasterly line of the 62.52 acre tract
conveyed to Frank La~omarsino by Deed recorded in Book 235 of Deeds at Pa~e A52,
San ~teo County Records; Southwesterly along said Southeasterly line to the most
Southerly corner of said 62.52 acre tract; along the boundary of said 62.52 acre
tract and the boundary of the 179.11 acre tract conveyed to Oliver D. Hamlin by
Deed recorded in Book 259 of Deeds, at page 366, San Mateo County Records, North-
westerly and Northeasterly to the Southerly corner of the 53.95 acre tract conveyed
to William E. Arata et al by Deed recorded in Book 210 of Deeds at Pane 79, San
Mateo County Records; alon~ the boundary of said 53.95 acre tract Northwesterly and
Northeasterly to the Southerly corner of the Cypress Lawn Cemetery, said corner
being on the cormorate limits line of the Town of Colma; Northeasterly along the
Southeasterly line of Cypress Lawn Cemetery and the corporate limits line of the
Town of Colma to the Northeasterly line of E1 Camino Real; Southeasterly along the
Northeasterly line of E1 Camino Real to the Northwesterly line of the aforementioned
Lagomarsino 62.52 acre tract; Northeasterly along the Northwesterly line of said 62.52
acre tract to the Southwesterly line of Market Street Railway ar~ the corporate limits
line of the Town of Colma; and Southeasterly alon~ sai~ corpor~te limits line to a
point 1~.21 feet at right a~les Northwesterly from the Southeasterly line of said
62.52 acre tract; thence, leaving the corporate limits line of the City of South San
Francisco, Northeasterly alon~ a line parallel to, and 18.21 feet at right angles
Northwesterly from the Southeasterly line of said 62.52 acre tract to the Northeasterly
line of Mission ~oad; thence Southeasterly along said Northeasterly line of Mission
~oad to the Corporate limits line of South San Francisco, said point being along the
~sterly corner of the 13.215 acre parcel of land conveyed to Antonio Scopesi and wife
by Deed recorded January 9, 1936 in Book 673 of Official Records of San Mateo County
at Page 61 (71767C); thence along said corporate limits line of the City of South San
Francisco the following courses: Northeasterly along the Northwesterly line of the
said lands of Scopesi 3260 feet, more or less, to the most Northerly corner thereof,
said point being in the Southeasterly corporate limits line of the City of Colma,
which line is also the Southwesterly line o£ the subdivision designated on the"Map
of the Lands of the Abbey Homestead Associates", which Map was filed in the Office of
the Recorder of the County of San Mateo, State of California on January 2, 1872 in
Book 15 of Deeds at pages 2 and 3 and copy entered in Book B of Maps at Page ~3 and
Book I of Maps at Page lA; along said corporate limits line of the City of Colma,
Southeasterly 950 feet, more or less, and Northeasterly 1OO feet more or less, to the
intersection of said corporate limits line with the Southwesterly line of Hillside
Boulevard; and leaving the corporate limits line of the City of Colma and following
said Southwesterly line of Hillside Boulevard Southeasterly 1510 feet, more or less,
to the Easterly corner of the parcel of land described in Parcel ~ of the Deed from
California Pacific Title Insurance Company to Pacific Coa?t Construction Company and
recorded in Book 1797 of Official Mecords of San Mateo County at Page 576 (37965 I);
thence, leaving said corporate limits line of the City of South San Francisco, and
running along the boundary of said Parcel A South 37° 38' An" ~Vest. 561.85 feet, North
55° 37' 50" East 105.29 feet,.South 35° OA' 30" West 581.7& feet and North 29°
SA" '~fest 50.21 feet to the Easterly corner of Parcel 10 described in said Deed from
the California Pacific Title Insurance Comoany to Pacific Coast Construction Company,
thence South'35° Od' 30" ~st, along the Southeasterly line of Parcels 10, 9 and 3
described in said Deed to Pacific Coast Construction Company and the prolongation of
said line, to the Northwesterly llne of Lot 10 in Block 1 as shown on the Map entitled,
"Regii Tract, South San Francisco, California", which map was filed in the Office of
the Recorder of the County of San Mateo, State of California on May ~, 192& in Book I1
of Maps Page 63; thence Northwesterly along said Northeasterly line of Lot 10 to the
Northerly corner of Lot 10; thence Southwesterly along the Northwesterly boundary of
said Regli Tract to the Northeasterly line of Mission ~oad; thence Southeasterly along
the Northeasterly line of Mission ~oad to the Southeasterly line of '~llow Avenue; then~
Northeasterly along said Southeasterly line of '~llow Avenue 300 feet; thence Southeaster-
ly to a point in the Southeasterly line of Oak Avenue, which point is 300 feet at right
angles Northeast~rly from the City of South San Francisco drainage canal right of way
described in the instr~nent recorded in Book 680 of Official ~ecords of San Mateo County
at Page 232 (75074 C); thence Southeasterly along a line 300 feet at right angles North-
easterly from said drainage right of way to the Southeasterly line of Chestnut Avenue;
thence Southwesterly along said So~theasterly line of Chestnut Avenue to anoint 300
feet at right angles Southwesterly from said drainage right of way; thence Northwesterly
along a line 300 feet at right angles Southwesterly from said drainage canal to the
Southwesterly line of Mission ~oad; thence Northwesterly along said Southwesterly line
of Mission ~oad to the Southeasterly line of the aforesaid 62.52 acre tract conveyed
to Frank Lagomarsino; thence Southwesterly along the Southeasterly line of said 62.52
acre tract to the Northeasterly line of the 80 foot right of way of the City and County
of San Francisco; thence Southeasterly along the Northeasterly line of said 80 foot
right or way to the point of beginning.
Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments, and to bear
interest at the rate of five percent (5%) per annum, will be issued hereunder in the manner provided
by Division 10 of Streets and Highways Code, in the improvement Bond Act of 1915, and the last in-
stallment of such bonds shall mature fourteen (lA) years from the 2d day of July, next succeeding
ten (10) months from their date.
The SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ENTERPltISE-JOI~RNAL, a newspaper of general circulation, print-
ed and published in said City oi° ~outh Oan Francisco, is hereby designated as the newspaper in which
this resolution of intention shall be published, and the city clerk is hereby directed to cause
this resolubion to be p,~blished by two (2) insertions in the manner and form required by law.
Said city clerk is also directed to mail a notice of the adoption of this resolution
of intention, ~ostage prepaid, to all persons owning real property which is proposed to be assessed
to pay any part of the cost of said work, whose names and addresses appear on the last equalized
assessment roll, or as known to said city clerk.
The superintendent of streets shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line
of said contemplated work or improvement, and not more than three hundred (300) feet in distance
apart, but not less than three (3) in all, and along the open streets within said district at not more
than three hundred (500) fe~ in distance apart on each said street, notices of the passage of this res-
olution of intention~ in the manner and form required b~; the "Improvement Act of 1911".
Notice is hereby given that Monday, the Ath day of December, 195~, at the hour of 8 o'clock
p. m., in the council chamber of said City Council of the City of South San Francisco, any and all persons
having any objection to the proposed work and improvements may appear before said city council and show
cause why said proposed work and improvements should not be carried out in accordance with this resolution.
Except as hereinbefore provided, all of the hereinproposed work shall be done pursuant to an
act of the legislature of the State of California designated as "Improvement Act of 1911".
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the
City Council of the City of South San Francisco this day of November, 1950, by the following vote:

The city clerk is hereby directed to send a cody of this resolution to the Board of Super-
visors of the County of San Mateo with a request that said board of supervisors consent to the construc-
tion of said sewer at the place in said Co,mty of San Mateo hereinbefore designated and designsted upon
the plans for said work, and is also directed to send a copy of this resolution to the City Council of
said City of Colma, with the request that said city council consent to the construction of a portion of
said sewer in said City of Colma, at the place heyeinbefore designated and designated upon said plans.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the
City Council of the City of South San Francisco this 30th day of October, 1950, by the following vote:
