REQUESTING CONSENT OF THE COUNTY OF SAN HATEO TO ORDEN
THE CONSTRUCTION OF SANITARY SE~S AND TO PROVIDE THAT
THE COSTS SHALL BE ASSESSED ONA SPECIAL DISTRICT UND~
APPROPRIATE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT AND ASSESSM~T BOND ACTS
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, California, that
WN~EAS, this council has undertaken proceedings pursuant to appropriate special
assessment and assessment bond acts for the construction of the following improvements:
The construction of a vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewer conmencing at an existing
manhole at the intersection of Chestnut Avenue and the Colma Creek Drainage Canal, thence northwest-
erly along said drainage canal to Mission Road, thence in Mission Road northwesterly to a point 6~0
feet more or less northwesterly of the ooutheasterly corporate limits line of the Town of Colma,
thence southwesterly in a direct line to a point in E1Camino Real opposite the meet westerly comer
of the Cowell Estate Company property, and thence northwesterly along the E1 Camino Real 480 feet
more or less, thence westerly across E1 Camino Real approximately 100 feet, together with standard
manholes and all necessary appurtenant structures as shown on the plans on file in the office of the
City Clerk;
WHEREAS, it is the intention of this Council to levy and collect assessments and issue
and sell bonds against the properties contained within the boundaries of the assessment district, the
exterior boundaries of which district are described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the corporate limits line of the City of South San Francisco,
said point being the point of intersection of the Northeasterly line of the 80 foot
right of way of the City and County of San Francisco with the Northwesterly line of
Block 9, as said block is designated on the map entitt~d "RANCHO BURI BORI SOUTH 8AN
FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA", which map was filed in the office of the Recorder of the
County of San Mateo, State of California, on March 22, 19~6 in Book 25 of Maps at
Pages 28, 29 and 30; thence from said point of beginnin~ along said Northwesterly line
of Rancho Burl Buri Subdivision No. 1, and along the Southwesterly prolongation of
said line Southwesterly to the Southwesterly line of Junipero. Serra Boulevard and
the corporate limits line of the City of South San Francisco, thence along said cor-
porate limits line the' following courses: Northwesterly along the Southwesterly line
of Junipero Serra Boulevard to the Southeasterly line of the 62.52 acre tract conveyed
to Frank Lagomarsino by deed recorded in Book 235 of Deeds at page ~52, San Mateo
County Records; Southwesterly along said Southeasterly line to the most Southerly cor-
ner of said 62.52 acre tract; along the boundary of said 62.52 acre tract and the
boundary of the 179.11 acre tract conveyed to Oliver D. Hamlin by deed recorded in
Book 259 of Deeds, at page 366, San Mateo County Records, Northwesterly and North-
easterly to the Southerly corner of the 53.95 acre tract conveyed to William E. Arata
et al by deed recorded in Book 210 of Deeds at page 79, San Mateo County Records;
along the boundary of said 53.95 acre tract Northwesterly and Northeasterly to the
Southerly corner of the Cypress Lawn Cemetery, said corner being on the corporate
limits line of the Town of Colma; Northeasterly along the Southeasterly line of Cypress
Lawn Cemetery and the corporate limits line of the Town of Colma to the Northeasterly
line of E1 Camino Real; Southeasterly along the Northeasterly line of E1 Camino Real
to the Northwesterly line of the aforementioned Lagomarsino 62.52 acre tract; North-
easterly along the Northwesterly line of said 62.52 acre tract to the Southwesterly
line of Market Street Railway and the corporate limits line of the Town of Colma; and
Southeasterly along said corporate limits line to a point 18.21 feet at right angles
Northwesterly from the Southeasterly line of said 62.52 acre tract; thence, leaving
the corporate l~m~ts line of the City of South San Francisco, Northeasterly along a
line parallel to, and 18.21 feet at right angles Northwesterly from the Southeasterly
line of said 62.52 acre tract to the Northeasterly line of Mission Road; thence
Southeasterly along said Northeasterly line of Mission Road to the corporate limits
line of South San Francisco, said point being along the Westerly corner of the 13.215
acre parcel of land conveyed to Antonio Scopesi and wife by deed recorded January 9,
1936 in Book 673 of Official Records of San Mateo County at page 61 (71767C); thence
along said corporate limits line of the City of South San Francisc the following
courses: Northeasterly along the Northwesterly line of the said lands of Scopesi
3260 feet, more or less, to the most Northerly corner thereof, said point being in
the Southeasterly corporate limits line of the City of Colma, which line is also the
Southwesterly line of the subdivision designated on the "Map of the Lands of the Abbey
Homestead Associates", which Map was filed in the Office of the Recorder of the County
of San Mateo, State of California on January 2, 1872 in Book 15 of Deeds at pages 2
and 3 and copy entered in Book BOf Maps at page &3 and Book 1 of Maps at page
along said corporate limits line of the City of Colma, southeasterly 950 feet, more
or less, and Northeasterly 100 feet more or less, to the intersection of said corporate
limits line with the Southwesterly line of Hillside Boulevard; and leaving the cor-
porate limits line of the City of Colma and following said Southwesterly line of Hill-
side Boulevard Southeasterly 1510 feet, more orless, to the Easterly corner of the
parcel of land described in Parcel & of the deed from California Pacific Title Insurance
Company to Pacific Coast Construction Company and recorded in Book 1797 of Official
Records of San Mateo County at page 576 (37965 I); thence, leaving said corporate
limits line of the City of South San Francisco, and running along the boundary of
said Parcel & South 37° 38' kO" West 561.85 feet, South 55° 37' 50" East 105.29 feet,
South 35° Ok' 30" West 581.7& feet and North &9° &3' 5&" West 50.21 feet to the
Easterly corner of Parcel 10 described in said deed from the California Pacific Title
Insurance Company to Pacific Coast Construction Company, thence South 35° O4' 30"
West along the Southeasterly line of Parcels 10, 9 and 3 described in said deed to
Pacific Coast Construction Company and the prolongation of said line, to the North-
easterly line of Lot 10 in Block 1 as shown on the Map entitled "Regli Tract, South
San Francisco, California", which map was filed in the Office of the Recorder of the
County of San Mateo, State of California on May 8, 192~ in Book 11 of Maps, page 63;
thence Northwesterly along said Northeasterly line of Lot 10 to the Northerly corner
of Lot 10; thence Southwesterly along the Northwesterly boundary of said Regli Tract
to the Northeasterly line of Mission Road; thence Southeasterly along the Northeast-
erly line of Mission Road to the Southeasterly line of Willow Avenue; thence North-
easterly along said Southeasterly line of Willow Avenue 300 feet; thence Southeasterly
to a point in the Southeasterly line of Oak Avenue, which point is 300 feet at right
angles Northeasterly from the City of South San Francisco drainage canal right of way
described in the instrument recorded in Book 680 of Official Records of San Mateo
County at page 232 (7507& C); thence Southeasterly along a line 300 feet at right
angles Northeasterly from said drainage right of way to the Southeasterly line of
Chestnut Avenue; thence Southwesterly along said Southeasterly line of Chestnut Avenue
to a point 300 feet at right angles Southwesterly fr~m said drainage right of way;
thence Northwesterly along a line 300 feet at right angles Southwesterly from said
drainage canal to the Southwesterly line of Mission Road; thence Northwesterly along
said Southwesterly line of Mission Road to the Southeasterly line of the aforesaid
62.52 acre tract con~eyed to Frank Lagomarsino; thence Southwesterly along the South-
easterly line of said 62.52 acre tract to the North easterly line of the 80 foot right
of way of the City and County of San Francisco; thence Southeasterly along the North-
easterly line of said 80 foot right of way to the point of beginning.
WHEREAS, a portion of the work to be done is of such character that it will directly
and peculiarly affect property not only within said City but also within the unincorporated territory
of the County of San Mateo, and the purpose sought to be accomplished by said w~rk can best be ac-
complished by a single comprehensive scheme of work as that proposed to be done;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as follows:
1. That request be, and the same is hereby'made that the Board of Supervisors of the
County of San Mateo, being the legislative body having Jurisdiction of a portion of the territory in
which said work is to be done, grant to this City its consent, expressed by resolution, to order the
construction of said improvements in the whole or any part of said streets and to provide that the
costs may be assessed upon the properties benefited in said proposed assessment district, which
includes property within the County of San Mateo.
2. That said Board of Supervisors, in said resolution, grant to this City its consent
to open all such public streets as are required for the installation of said improvements, said work
to be done under the direction of the Works Engineer of said City and to the satisfaction of the County
Engineer of said County, and in conformity with good engineering practice, said Works Engineer to re-
quire of the contractor that all of the provisions of the specifications to be adopted by the City
CouncA~ of said City be complied with, to the end that no greater amount of ditches are opened at
any time than is necessary, that they shall be adequately lighted an~ barricaded, that they shall be
promptly backfilled, and that said streets shall be restored with materials of like quality and char-
acter as those existing therein at the time of such work.
3. That the City Clerk of this City be, and he is hereby, directed.".to file with the
County Clerk of San Mateo County a certified copy of this resolution, together with a copy of the
Resolution of Intention.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted
by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this ~th day of December, 1950, by the follow-
ing vote:
