CALLING FOR SEALED PROPOSALS
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, California, that
WHEREAS, the said Council, on the 13th day of November 1950, did adopt Resolution of
Intention NY. 1594 to order the construction of sanitary sewers and appurtenances, reference to said
ResolUtion of Intention being hereby made for fUrther particulars;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to ~lblish, by two suc-
cessive insertions in the South San Francisco Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper published and circulated
in said City, a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the construction of said improvements, and
referring to the plans and specifications on file in the office of said Clerk, the first of which publi-
cations shall be at least ten days prior to the time fixed for opening bids.
All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a certified check payable to the order of
the City, amountin~ to ten per cent of the bid, or by a bond in said amount and payable to said City,
signed by a corporate surety or by the bidder and two sureties who shall justify before any officer
competent to administer an oath, in double said amount, and over and above all statutory exemptions.
Said Check shall be forfeited or said bond shall become payable to said City in case the lowest responsible
bidder depositing the same does not, within the time specified by law, enter into a contract with t he
Superintendent of Streets of said City, the faithful performance of w~ich shall be secured by 'an under-
taking in the amount of 25% of the amount so bid, with sureties satisfactory to this Council, and which
shall be accompanied by a labor and material bond in a sum e~]al to 50% of the amount of said bid, under
the provisions of Title l, Division 5, Chapter 3 of the Government Code.
Said Sealed proposals or bids sha!l be delivered to the City Clerk oi' this City on or be-
fore eight o'clock P.~L, of the l~th day of December, 1950, said time being not less than ten days from
the time of the first publication of said notice. Bids will be oubl~.cly opened, examined and declared on
said day and hour.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Coun~ml of the City of South San Francisco, this Ath day of December, 1950, by the following
vote:
