RESOLUTION ORDERING -.~ORK OF CONSTRUCTING A SANITARY
FROM CORTEZ AVENUE TO ALTA VISTA DRIVE.
~{EREAS the City Council of the City of South San Francisco did, on the 6th day of June, 1951
pass its resolution of intention No. 1666 to order the improvement work described in said resolution
to' be done, which resolution of .intention was duly and regularly published, as re~Aired by law,
as appears fro~ the affidavit of HAZEL TAVENER, now on file in the office of the city clerk of said
city; and
~EREAS notice of the passage of said resolution of intention was duly and regularly posted
along the line of said contemplated work and improvement, and in front of all the open streets within
the district in said resolution of intention described, in the manner and form required by law, as
appears from the affidavit of CHARLES E. RANDLETT, now on file in the office of the city clerk of
said city; and
WHEREAS no protest or objection against said work has been received by said city clerk or by
said city council at any time;
NOW , THEREFORE, resolved that public interest and canvenience require improvemmnt 'work des-
cribed in said resolution or intention to be done, and said City Council of the City of South San
Francisco hereby orders daid work to be don~.
Said city council hereby ascertains that the general prevailingrates of per diem and the general
prevailing rates for legal holiday and overtime work applicable .to said work to be done are as follows:

~iall wage scales and classifications not listed above or correctly shown, the prevailing
union Scale established for San Mateo County shall apply.
The ~ollowing are to be considered holidays: New Year's'Day, Decoration Day, Indepen-
dence Day, ~abo~ Day, Admission Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Saturdays and Sundays.
The successful bidder for the work hereinbefore mentioned will be required to file with
the ,ity clerk a good and sufficient bond in the amount of FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000) condi-
tioned to indemnify said city against loss or damage said city may sustain by reason of any injury
which said successful bidder, as contractor,
may cause to any pavement in said city, in connection with the performance of the work mentioned in
said resolution of intention.
The notice inviting sealed proposals to be published and posted by the city clerk shall
contain a provision requir~mg such~ bond.
The city clerk is her~y direCted to post a notice of said work, together with the plans
and specifications, near the council chamber ' door inviting sealed proposals for doing the work ordered,
and is also directed to P~blish a notice 'inviting sealed proposals and referring to the plans and
specifications posted and on file by T~) ~2) insertions in the South San Francisco E~terprise-
Journal, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in the City of South San Francisco, and hereby
designated for that purpose.
Said work to be done consists of the construction of a.sanitary sewer from Cortez Avenue
to Alta Vista Drive.
I hereby certify that 'the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopt'ed
by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this 25th day of June, 1951, by the following'
