~hereas Mr. HOlston was a member of the Legislative body of the City Of South San Francisco,
formerly known as the Board of Trustees of said city and now known as the CityJCouncil, for twenty (20)
years; and
'~hereas Mr. Holston served efficiently and uprightly as president of the Board of Trustees and
as Mayor of this city, was an outstanding citizen of this community for more than forty (gO) years,
was a citizen of the highest character, was at all times interested in the welfare of our community
and gave u~sparingly of his time in the promotion of its best interests;
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that this City Council laments
the passing of ~George %¥. Holston and extends its sympathy to Nellie Holston, his surviving wife, and to Harry
Holston, his brother, in their time of Bereavement.
B~ ~T FUNTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be inscribed in the minutes of the City Council
and that a copy thereof be sent to each Mrs. Nellie Holston and Mr. Harry Holston.
I herebl certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this 2nd day of July, 1951, by the following
