HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1759-1952I iS6 RESOLUTION NO. 1759 RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, TO BE KNOWN AS WHEREAS The City Council of the City of South San Francisco has received a written petition from ARCO BUILDING COMPANY, a corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of California, and SAN MATEO MOUNTED SHERIFF'S POSSE CLUB, INC., a corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of California, to annex to said City of South San Francisco the uninhabited territory hereinafter described, which uninhabited territory is contiguous to the City of South San Francisco and consists of all that certain real property situate in the County of San Mateo, State of California, and particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a point on the Westerly line of the right of way of the City and County of San Francisco said point being the most Southerly corner of that certain 26.86 acre parcel of land conveyed by Calif- ornia Golf Club, a corporation, to American Homes, a partnership, by Deed dated May 14, 1941 and re- corded October 20, 1941 in Book 982 of Official Records at page B6B, Records of San Mateo County, Calif- ornia; running thence from said point of beginning South 7° 10' 50" East on and along the Westerly line of the right of way of the City and County of San Francisco, 204.84 feet to its intersection with the Southeasterly line of the lands of the California Golf Club, said intersection being marked on the ground by an iron pipe monument; thence South 55° 42' 10" West on and along said last mentioned line 1013.68 feet to another iron pipe monument; thence leaving said last mentioned line North 39° 25' 45" West 770.97 feet to a 2" x 2" stake; thence North 50° 00' BO" East 532.37 feet to a 2" x 2" stake on the Southwesterly line of the above mentioned 26.86 acre tract of American Homes; thence Southeasterly on and along said last mentioned line on the arc of a curve to the left having a radius of 1475 feet and whose center bears North 29° 06' 23" East 1475 feet from said last mentioned point, having a central angle of 26° 04' 23" an arc distance of 671.21 feet to a point thereon; thence continuing along the Southwesterly line of said 26.86 acre tract South 86° 58' East 42.00 feet, North 85° 56' 30" East 63.50 feet to the Southerly termination of the Westerly line of Fairway Drive as shown on that certain map entitled "SOUTHWOOD, MAP NO. 3" which map was filed in the office of th~ County Recorder of San Mateo County on March 8, 1945 in Book 24 of Maps at page 40; thence across the termination of said Fairway Drive, North 82o49' 10" East 50 feet to a one-inch iron. pipe monument; thence North 82° 49' 10" East 100.00 feet to the point of beginning. CONTAINING 15.193 acres of land, more or less, and WHEREAS the territory hereinbefore described is in fact uninhabited territory; and WHEREAS said city council has fo'und, and does hereby find, that said ARCO BUILDING COMPANY, a corpor- ation organized and existing under the laws of the State of California, are the owners of land comprising more than one-fourth (~) of the area of the territory hereinbefore described and representing more than one-fourth (~) of the assessed value of said territory, according to the last preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of San Mateo; Said city council hereby desig~es the territory hereinbefore described as "PARK HAVE~" for the purposes of identification; RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that Monday, the 7th day of July, 1952, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p. m. in the council chamber in the City Hall in said City of South San Francisco be, and the same hereby are fixed as the time and place when and where any person or persons owning real property within the territory hereinbefore described and so proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the proposed annex- ation of said territory, may appear before said city council and show cause why said territory should not be so annexed. The City Clerk of said city shall cause a copy of this resolution to be published by two (2) insertions, one week apart, such publication to be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date last hereinbefore mentioned, in both THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ENTERPRISE-JOURNAL, a weekly newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in said City of South San Francisco, and the SAN MATEO TIMES, a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the County of San Mateo, in which county the territory hereinbefore referred to is located. \ I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this 2nd day of June, 1952, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen John Noonan, Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi, Telford Smith Noes, Councilmen, None Absent, Councilmen, Joseph Bracco Attest: Elizabeth Ottenfield Acting City Clerk
