RESOL~ION DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS AND FIXING DATE OF ~RING THEREON
FOR IMPROVEMENT OF SHAW ROAD IN INDUSTRIAL ACRES.
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, California, that
WHEREAS, the said Council, ~n the 2nd day of June, 1952, did adopt Resolution of Intention No. 1762, to
order the construction of sanitary sewer mains and laterals, storm sewers, pavement of crusher run base with asphaltic
concrete surfacing, Portland cement concrete curbs and gutters, together with all excavation, grading and backfilling
necessary therefor, together with lamp holes, man holes and catch basins necessary for the foregoing, together with
construction of storm water drain from Shaw Road through easement iu Lot No. 5 (assessment number), and all incidental
work in, through and upon said Shaw Road iu Industrial Acres in the City of South San Francisco, for the entire length
thereof, reference to which Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further particulars;
NOW, TEEREFORE, the City Clerk of the City of South San Francisco is hereby directed to publish, by two
successive insertions in the SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ENTErPRISE-JOURNAL, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in
said city, a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the construction of said improvements, and referring to the
plans and specifications on file in the office of said Clerk, the first of which publication shall be at least ten
days prior to the fixed time for opening bids.
All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a certified check pa~ble to the order of said City, amounting
to ten per cent of the bid, or by a bond iu said amount and payable to said City, signed by a corporate surety or by
the bidder and two sureties who shall Justify before any officer competent to administer au oath, iu double said
amount and over and above all statutory exemptions. Said check shall be forfeited or said bond shall beccme payable
to said City iu case the lowest responsible bidder depositing the same does not, within the time specified by law,
enter into a contract with the Engineer of Work, the faithful performance of which shall be assured by au undertaking
iu the amount of 2~ of the amount so bid, with sureties satisfactory to this Board, and which shall be accompanied
by a labor and material bond in a sum equal to 50~ of the amount of said bid, under the provisions of Title l,
Division 5, Chapter B of the Government Code.
Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the City Clerk of this City on or before eight o'clock
p. m. of the 21st day of July, 1952, in the Council Chambers of said City Council of theCity of South San Francisco
at the City Hall ou Grand Avenue in said City of South San Francisco, said time being not less than ten days from
the time of the first publication of said notice. Bids will be publicly opened, examined and declared ou said day
and hour.
