HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1810-1952RESOLUTION NO. 2810 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DIRECTING THE %~ORKS HNGINEF~R AND THE SUPERINTeNDeNT OF STREETS TO L~STALL A CURB ALONG THE SOUTHERLY LINE OF SPRUCE AVENUE ADJACENT TO THE PROPERTY OCCUPIED BY THE LINDENVILLE PRO- JECT OF THE HOUSING AUTHORTY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, A PUBLIC CORPORATION. ~EREAS the Housing Authority of the City of South San Francisco, apublic corporation, holds a leasehold interest in and to said property across which Spruce Avenue, a public thoroughfare, is being extended by the City of South San Francisco; and k~EREAS said Housing Authority desires in return for relinquishing its said leasehold interest that a barrier be erected to prevent automobile traffic from entering into the property of said homs- ing pr~eet from said Spruce Avenue, and whereas said city has agreed to provide an adequate barricade, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said city council does hereby direct the works enl~ineer and the superintendent of streets to take the necessary steps to install along theopening from said housing project into said Spruce Avenue a concrete curb having a minumum height of eight inches and having a pyramidal cross- sectional design. Said curb shall be approximately 500 hundred feet in length. The construction of said curb shall be complete prior to the bime that the extension of spruce Avenue is opened for general public use. BE IT FURTH~q R~OLVED that said City Council does a~ree with said housing authority, on behalf of said city, that if said proposed concrete curb shall prove inadequate to prevent motor vehicular trsffic from en- tering or leaving said housing project by way of the opening created by the extension of said Spruce Avenue, then the City of South San Francisco shall take necessary steps for the installation of an adequate barrier to prevent such traffic. Said City Council does also agree, on behalf of said city, that said city shall install adequate signs regulating motor vehicle parking and traffic speed along Spruce Avenue adjacent to said housing authority pro- Juct. ****** ** *** ~****** * Ihereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this 15th day of September, 1952, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen John Noonan, Adolph Sani, x~milio Cortesi, Joseph Bracco, Telford Smith Noes, Councilmen None Absent, Councilmen None Attest: Arthur A.
