RESOLUTION DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS AND FLXINC DATE OF HEARING THEREON
FOR IMPROVEMENT OF NORTHWEST DRAINAGE DISTRICT.
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City oI' South SanFrancisco, CaliI°ornia, that
~qEREAS, the said Council, on the 6th day of October, 1952, did adopt Resolution of Intention
No. 182d, to order the construction and installation of a storm dranage system, including the laying
and installing of concrete pipe,~ corrugated arch storm drains, catch basins, inlet and outlet structures, all
excavation and backfill work and the repaving of streets, and the installinr~ oI' any and all necessary
~ppurtenances, and the performance of'~ll incidental work neoessary for such storm drainage system,
which is to be located along Grant Avenue, Oak Avenue, along an easement between Oak Avenue ~nd Chestnut
Avenue, along Old Mission Road, Evergreen Drive and Crestwood Drive, and along an easement northerly
from Crestwood Drive to a location near its northwesterly terminus, all o~' which streets ao~ essements
are situate within the confines of the City of South San Francisco, and the performing of all work auxil-
iary to the foreEoing which may be necessary to carry out the same, reference to which Resolution of Intention
is hereby made for f~rther particulars.
NO~, THEREFORE, the City Clerk of the City of South San Francisco is h~reby direoted to publish,
by two successive insertions in the SOUTH SAN FRAN~ISO0 ENTERPRISE-JOUHN~L, a weekly newsp~pe~ published
and ~irculated in said City, a no,ice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the construction of said improvements,
and referring to the plans and speci~'ications on file in the offi~e of said Clerk, the first of which
publication shall be at least ten days prior to t~e fixed for opening bids.
All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a certified check payable to the order of s~id City
amounting to ten per cent of the bid, or by a bond in said amount and payable to said City, signed by a
corporate sure~y or by the bidder and two sureties ~who shall Justify before any offioer competent to ad-
minister an oath, in double said amount and over and above all statutory exemptions. S~id check shall be
forfeited or said bond shall become p~yable to said City in ease the lowest responsible bidder depositing
the smae does not, within the timespeci~'ied by law, enter into a contract with ~he Engineer of Work, the
faithful performance of which shall be assured by an undertaking in the amount of 25% of the amount so
bid, with sureties satisI'actory to this Board, and which shall be accompanied by a labor and material
bond in a sum equal to 50~ of the amount o# said bid, under the provisions oi° Title 1, Division 5,
Chapter3 of the Government Code.
Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the City Clerk oi' this City on or before
eight o'clock P.M. of the 22nd da~ of October, 1952, in the CouncilChambers oI' said City Council of
the City of South San Franci.co at the City Hall on Grand Avenue in said City of South San Francisco,
said time being not less than ten days from the time of the i'irst publication of said notice. Bids
will be publicly opened, e~nined and declared on said day and hour.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly adopted by the City
Council of the City ol' South San Francisco at an.~'regular meeting thereoI' held on the 6th day of
October, 1952, by the following vote:
